Referring to videos"Cookie Monster's Best Bites,The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street,The Best of Ernie & Bert"and"A Celebration of me ,Grover".

I like how each of these videos have their own kind of video presentation setting.
"Cookie Monster's Best Bites"has Cookie Monster trying to open his own bakery.

"The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street"has Kermit in a tuxedo seated with a bunch of anything muppets in a banquet hall, with Grover as host of the ceremony.

"The Best of Ernie & Bert"just has Gina babysitting Ernie's baby nephew while browsing through Bert and Ernie's family album.

"A Celebration of me Grover"is another banquet hall type setting with Grover,Ernie,Bert,Oscar,Cookie Monster and the whole SS muppet gang together.Including Grover's common resturant customer Fat Blue. It's kind of surprising that Kermit wasn't part of that gala.He was only seen briefly in some of the flashback segments.

There's also the "Best of Elmo" video and "Big Bird Sings"- which is basically a best of Big Bird video (particularly focusing on his songs)

All these videos and more are reviewed pretty extensively in this thread. If you've seen some videos that haven't been reviewed yet, please feel free to add a review!

They probably didn't have Kermit because at the time the video was made, Kermit was owned by Disney, so they couldn't use him(for new segments). Otherwise, I'm sure he would have been included in the presentation.

Thank you GonzoLeaper. This was indeed helpful. In fact in response to that thread,I bought myself"Big Bird's Story Time"on DVD.I think my favourite segment there was with the three little pigs and the big bad wolf.I love the way the wolf blows everything but the house down.Hilarious

You know what would be great? Collector style "Best of_____" DVD's. If they can't do box sets, an hour-hour and a half DVD packed with skits of a certain character. Sort of like what they have for SNL.

best of character collections

Some special best of character collections with just inserts and no linking footage would be good. Maybe there could be a collecction similar to Disney's Treasures releases, focusing on every starring role for each character during a certain time fraim.

If not, then here are some good ideas of what I'd like to see in such releases:
