(The title appears in front of a New York City backdrop, with "Volume 10" dropping to the bottom of the screen)

(Big Bird and the adults are all together on the street)

Big Bird: Hello, welcome to Sesame Street.
Maria: Today is a big day.
Susan: That's right. Today, we are all going exploring around town.
Bob: Doesn't that sound like fun?
David: Well, let's go!
Big Bird: But shouldn't we wait?
David: Wait for what?
Olivia: Yeah!
Big Bird: I promised Mr. Snuffleupagus that he could come with us.
David: (annoyed) Oh, again with the Snuffleupagus....
Olivia: If we waited for Snuffleupagus we'd never get started.
Bob: You can say that again.
Big Bird: But...
Olivia: No "buts", Big Bird, we've heard about your imaginary friend long enough!
Bob: Come on, let's go!
(the adults leave. Big Bird follows them)
Big Bird: But.. but he is real... (follows them)
Bob: (sarcastically) (off-screen) Sure, he is....
(Mr. Snuffleupagus shows up once they are gone)
Mr. Snuffleupagus: Well, I am ready to go exploring around town. Yes, indeed. (notices that nobody is around) Well, I guess I'll have to wait for Bird and his friends to show up. How long can I wait, anyway?

(cut to the following sketches: Sesame Street News: waiting in line, Harvey Kneeslapper fills a closet with toys part 1, a bee searches for a flower, and Luis searches for agua)

(The cast is now in a big city, a more realistic one than Sesame Street)

Bob: This is a great place to explore.
Olivia: I am so glad that I brought my camera. (takes a picture)
Gordon: I haven't been here in awhile.
Susan: Neither have I.
Big Bird: It's great that we are exploring here, even if we didn't wait for Mr. Snuffleupagus. (sighs)

(cut to the following sketches: Harvey Kneeslaper fills a closet with toys part 2, Maria as Charlie Chaplin says "Me", Harvey Kneeslapper fills a closet with toys part 3, and Typewriter Guy: T)

Big Bird: I see a lot of objects that begin with T.
Bob: Like what, Big Bird?
Big Bird: Oh, like train, and trees, and telephones, and toys.
Maria: That's great.
Gordon: Whatever takes your mind off the Snuffleupagus.
Big Bird: Another word that begins with T is ten.
David: Oh, ten is a number.
Big Bird: Yeah, and T also starts the word tiny, and the word turtles....
David: Good, Big Bird.
Maria: T stands for ten tiny turtles.
Big Bird: That's right.

(cut to the following sketches: Ten Tiny Turtles, Jazz #10, Song of Ten, Kermit and Tracy count to 10, and Grover and John John count backwards)

(Mr. Snuffleupagus is still waiting on Sesame Street)
Mr. Snuffleupagus: Well, I have been waiting for Bird for ten minutes. I guess he must be lost or something. Well, I guess that I will have to go exploring without him. (leaves)
(After he leaves, Oscar pops his head out of his trash can)
Oscar: Hello, there! Oscar the grouch here, with one of my favorite T words. (shrugs) I actually have favorites. (shrugs again) Anyway, one of my favorite T words is trash! And here is is. (goes into can, and various pieces of trash come flying out of the trash can and onto the ground)
Oscar: I have my favorite pieces of trash on the ground. Let's count it. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Ten pieces of trash. And now here is some loud rock and roll music to disturb the neighborhod!

(cut to: Count it Higher)

The Count: I would like to count it higher. Let's count. Higher than 10! Here we go: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11! That's higher than 10, but I can certainly go higher! 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20! A-ha-ha! (thunder strikes) 20 is todays special bonus number!

(cut to the sketch where Grover and Herbert Birdsfoot count to 20)

(The gang is at Central Park)
Bob: I like the trees here at Central Park.
Susan: So do I.
Gordon: I like the fresh air.
Big Bird: I like everything about this place.
Olivia: I like the pictures that I took of this place, and I would like to take a picture of you all.
Maria: Okay.
David: No problem with that.
(They all pose, and Olivia gets in front of them)
Olivia: Say cheese!
All: Cheese!
(Olivia takes their picture)

(cut to the following sketches: Harvey Kneeslaper asks a man, "Can I take a picture of U?", Kermit and Professor Hastings talk about U, and the U claymation from the first season)

(the cast is having a snack at Central Park. A park vendor is watching them eat)
David: This is some good stuff.
Big Bird: I'll say. I like the birdseed.
Maria: I like the pizza.
David: Me, too.
(Linda signs "me, too")
Bob: Linda says, "me too".
(Linda signs "Thank you")
Big Bird: Well, I think we should keep exploring.
(Linda gives a "thumbs up" jesture)
Gordon: That sound slike a good idea.
Susan: (to the vendor) Thanks for all of the great food.
Vendor: Oh, it is my pleasure.
Maria: Adios.
(they all leave)
Vendor: What a happy bunch of people. (he starts to count his money)
(Mr. Snuffleupagus shows up)
Mr. Snuffleupagus: Excuse me...
Vendor: (looking at his money, and not at Mr. Snuffleupagus) Yes?
Mr. Snuffleupagus: Have you seen a big yellow bird and some humans?
Vendor: Yes, I did. They went that way. (points in the direction that they went)
Mr. Snuffleupagus: Thank you. (leaves)
(The vendor looks away from his money, and at Mr. Snuffleupagus as he elaves. He looks at the camera, shocked)
Vendor: I did not just see that, did I? Did I?

(cut to the following sketches: Lefty attempts to sell Ernie a U, and The Villian in the Patama Hat)

(the gang is now in a downtown villiage, where a lot of people are wearing costumes)
Maria: Wow, look at all of the costumes.
David: Theya re incredible.
Big Bird: Yes, they are. (turns around, and looks at a person in a monster costume) Hey, you remind me of somebody that I know. Would you like a cookie, or are you here to serve me cookies? (chuckles)
Gordon: These costuems look realistic, too.
(two people in an elephant costume, and two people in a wooly mammoth costume, walk by)
Big Bird: Hey, those two costumes look just like my best friend, Mr. Snuffleupagus.
(two people in a donkey costuem walk past Big Bird)
Man in rear half of donkey costume: You know, you kind of look like a costume yourself.
Big Bird: Oh, I get that a lot.
Woman in front half of donkey costume: I can see why.

(cut to the sketch where Ernie keeps talking to Bert about how thirsty he is)

(The cast is now on top of the statue of liberty)
Maria: Well, here we are at our last stop, the Statue of Liberty.
Bob: Oh, it's great. And a wonderful view from here.
Gordon: I'll say.
(cut to the villiage area where the gang was just at. Mr. Snuffleupagus enters)
Mr. Snuffleupagus: Wow, what a great bunch of costumes. Some of them look just like my anchestors.
(cut back to the top of the statue of liberty)
Big Bird: Hey, look!
David: Where?
Big Bird: There! (points) I... I think I see Mr. Snuffleupagus down there in that villiage!
Maria: (scrinches her eyes) Big Bird, that is probably just a costume.
Big Bird: But...
Olivia: The costumes look realistic, and from up here it is harder to tell if they are costumes or not.
Big Bird: But I know my best friend no matter how high I am.
Gordon: (palying along) Right, right....

(cut to Let's Make a Face)

(The gang returns to Sesame Street)
Bob: Well, I had such a great time.
(Linda signs, "me too")
David: I'd like to do that again sometime.
Olivia: Maybe we can do it next friday.
David: Great.
Big Bird: I just wish that you all could have seen Mr. Snuffleupagus.
Susan: Big Bird, I wish you would learn the difference between real and imaginary.
Big Bird: But I do know the difference! Hmm, but I wonder why he didn't show up? I wonder where he is now.
(scene fades to Mr. Snuffleupagus standing on top of the Statue of Liberty)
Mr. Snuffleupagus: Wow! What a view! But before I go, I'd like to tell you that todays show has been brought to you by the letters T, U, and V, and by the number 10. Oh yeah, and the bonus number 20. Now I wonder how I will get down from here.
