I just got this email from Mary Decker (San Francisco Puppet Guru) it's a thing from the filmakers who want to do workshops. Read it here.

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO SESAME STREET
Sept. 12, 2006
6pm
San Francisco Public Library
Koret Auditorium, 100 Larkin St.
Free and open to the public

ITVS Community Cinema, KQED, and the San Francisco Public Library present:

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO SESAME STREET reminds us
that social change can come from the most
unlikely sources, including a team of Muppets. We
follow three producers from the Sesame Street
Workshop to Bangladesh, Kosovo and South Africa
where they localize the world’s most-watched
children’s television program with indigenous
songs, puppets and curricula. The cultural and
production challenges they face reflect the
complex political struggles of each country.
Education is always more than alphabets and
numbers, and the contradictions inherent in
teaching humane values in a world where AIDS,
ethnic genocide and poverty dominate the
landscape make this film a must-see for anyone
interested in intercultural dialogue.

If you are interested please contact me Mo
Kinberg at 510-452-7178 moriahkinberg@yahoo.com.
I am the Regional Outreach Coordinator for iTVS.
ITVS.org. I would like to organize a series of
workshops in addition to the film where San
Francisco youth would make puppets that represent
their neighborhood, ethnic background or
personality.

Thank you.
