Finally found the lyrics to this song online. Gonna put in the chorus girl backing vocals (in parentheses).

"Style", music & lyrics by Stephen Schwartz:

    David Ogden Stiers:
As I was saying to my dear old friend, Rex Reed, the other day
    To succeed
You don't want brains or talent, diligence or guile
No, my simple little friend, the thing you need
    To make your way
Is what us (sung) hoittiest-toits in the uppermost crust have
The one thing you must have
    Is style

It's a matter of style, flair,
    Je ne sais quoi
    Without it you're a bust
You gotta come on with that smile, that air
    That qu'est-ce que c'est ca
    As I told Jascha Heifetz
In our line of life it's
    A must

They say clothes make the man if they beautifully adorn ya
From cuff to trouser leg to blouse
Now my clothes of course are by Devore of California
    Who does yours? Levi Strauss!

It's a matter of style (style!), flair (flair!)
Je ne sais quoi (Je ne sais quoi)
Bravura, so to speak (so to speak)
You gotta come out with that smile, that air (ahhh)
    That qu'est-ce que c'est ca
    As I told Karen Horney
The day I was born I
Was chic (Chic! Honest he was chic!)

    Girls: Alouette, gentil alouette
    Alouette, je te plumerait
    Alouette, gentil alouette

    DOS: Je te plumerait (-rait)
I don't like to undercut you
You're a cute kid, sonny, but you
Haven't a chance of success (sss!!!)

    Still as I promised
    Joanne Woodward
I'll put in a good word
    No, don't thank me—I know
    Quelle largesse

You see I got style (style), flair (flair)
Je ne sais quoi (je ne sais quoi)
That's what turns the wheel (that's what turns the wheel)
    Savoir faire, qu'est-ce que c'est ca (qu'est-ce que c'est caaaaa-aaaa)
    As I told Conrad Hilton
    It gives us that built-in
Appeal (-peal! And you've got a deal!)

When a smart looking gent leads a classy
    Mademoiselle in (classy mademoiselle in)
You figure he's a classy man (man!)
Now I've got this Garbo, this Salome, this Helen
    Who've you got? Raggedy Ann!
    (Raggedy Ann! Raggedy Ann!)

    Here we go!
    (Drums, wah-pedal guitar interlude)
You can see I've got style! (You can see the style, you can see the flair!)
    Je ne sais quoi
    What more can I say
    I've got that smile!
    Qu'est-ce que c'est ca
And as I told Carlo Ponti
    It's who's got that
    gentil plumerait
(It's a matter of style, it's a matter of flair)
    Gentil plumerait
(It's a matter of style, it's a matter of flair)
    Gentil plumerait
I've got it, I've got it, you don't got it, I've got it all!
    Face it kid—
    You're out of your league.

As always, a lovely episode. If I weren's so busy being impressed by your attention to detail, I'd be standing with my mouth hanging open saying, "How'd you get those little song thingys in your post." Those were way cool. And I adore David Ogden Stiers--he's a multitalented man.

I love the VH sketch with the Bat as the patient. So much material and such perfect jokes too. Congratulations.
I also love Muppet Sports with the ducks used as bowls and Lips upstaging Gonzo at the end of the opening. Such an obviously perfect gag. I'm slightly surprised they never used it on an actual season 5 episode.
I am so full of admiration for you Dave. Please bring us your next outline as soon as you conveniently can.

One small edit: subtract the Electric Mayhem from the song backstage, and leave it just as David (as DuFarge) and the three girls.
