So, being in Theatre classes at school, my articulation skills are constantly tested. Because of this, I've learned many tongue twisters. Some of the simplest ones are the hardest to say, such as 'Red leather, yellow leather'. One I used to do was a poem that supposedly incorporated every sound in the English language, although I cant remember who wrote it...

So, what are some of your favorite tongue twisters?

Nor can I, and it sounds so easy too! I've never heard of "red leather yellow leather" before.
I've never cared for toung twisters; I think I would fail that class!
:smirk: I never thought of a theater class as including articulation training and testing, but it makes perfect sense!
So, do you remember that poem that supposedly included every sound in the English language?

After a little research, I found it. It's lyrics from the song "I am so proud" from Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado:

To sit in solemn silence in a dull, dark dock,
In a pestilential prison, with a life-long lock,
Awaiting the sensation of a short, sharp shock,
From a cheap and chippy chopper on a big black block!

Whether or not it contains all the sounds in the English language, I do not know, but I seem to remember being told that anyway...

Here are some of my own tongue twisters.

Vile Kyle likes Lively Violet.

The rocky wobbly road.

The plumber's paper plate.

The shrew sees his shadow.

Clumps of clutter.

I like those! The only one I really had trouble with was 'The shrew sees his shadow', but I got the others after a try or two.

And finally, after nearly nonstop practice, I can finally say 'toy boat' three times fast!
