BitBBH was created by Mitchell Kriegman. I don't think Jim Henson was involved in the project...(correct me if I'm wrong)

Bear was made by The Jim Henson Company, but not by Jim himself, because Jim died in 1990, years before BitBBH made its debut.

Yeah... Jim Henson's last project, granted nothing Muppet-like with Kermit etc.., that was really put out after his death was Dinosaurs..

Bear was created by Mitchell Kriegman and Henson Co. produced the characters etc...
Then Disney Channel/Playhouse Disney aired and syndicated the series...
Now Disney owns the rights to all the Bear characters as well as the Muppets...lol

And this is because JHC feels almost like a sub-division of Disney now.

I wonder if Disney would buy The Jim Henson Company like how Turner Warner bought Hanna-Barbera?
  7. wwfpooh New Member

If it did, then it would own Fraggle Rock, Labryinth, and Dark Crystal.

Bear was eventually built by the guy who started Puppet Heap.
  9. wwfpooh New Member

And I bet that guy was part of JHC at one point.

very good.. lol.. catchin' on... lol! jk

Anyway, Bear is now officially a Disney property, if it wasn't already to start with. XD
  12. AAO Member

Yeah, it was to start with... Henson just had rights to the "characters to build". Later another company...*cough cough* puppet heap got a hold of'em..
  13. wwfpooh New Member

And so, now Disney & Puppet Heap own the Bear franchise.

    correct

Of course. I thought as much.
