I could list my very extensive list but I'll leave it at these two because I've seen way too many TV shows in my lifetime.

#1 80's animated show of all time:
The Transformers
(duh)

#2 80's animated TV show of all time:
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors

Why doesn't anyone seem to remember this one?
It was co-written by J. Michael Straczynski, creator of Babylon 5.
Not to mention the fact it had the best intro/outro theme songs ever!
(Yes, my humble opinion.)

Wow, this is a very interesting topic! I loved alot of shows in the 80's and movies because that is when I grew up. Here's some of my favorites:

Animated TV shows:
Muppet Babies
Smurfs
The Chipmunks
Care Bears
My Little Pony
David the Gnome
Garfield and Friends
(There's more I just can't think of right now)

Animated Movies:
Care Bears Movie 1 and 2
Rainbow Brite and The Star Stealer
Oliver and Company
An American Tale

I'm sure there's more that I'm just not remembering but those were the big ones!

Animated TV Shows

Robotech: It may not seem like it now, especially compared to all of the anime that's being dubbed and brought over here for American audiences, but Robotech was - and still is - ahead of its time. The folks at Harmony Gold took three separate, completely unrelated anime series and combined them into one, cohesive universe that still has a large following two decades later. I don't know if we'll ever see the likes of something like that again.

Voltron: For all of the changes that were made to it to make it "better" for American audiences to watch (the original was MUCH more violent), it's still a good show.

Mysterious Cities of Gold: Man, I loved this show when I was a little kid. I used to watch it religiously on Nickelodeon. This series needs to be reaired, and/or to be released on DVD.

Pound Puppies: I'm talking about the "first season" here, not the "New Adventures of the Pound Puppies" that changed the characters' personalities (Nose Marie as a housewife instead of a Southern Belle? I think not!) and changed Puppy Power from something special and rare to a deux ex machina.

Animated Movies

Secret of NIMH: Oh. Words cannot express how much I love this movie. In my opinion, THIS is the best movie Don Bluth ever did, surpassing even American Tail. Everything about it is wonderful, especially the fact that it's not a musical with everyone bursting into song during every act.

The Last Unicorn: Another beautiful, beautiful movie. I love the fact that it has a bittersweet happy ending (although as Schmendrick put it, there are no happy endings because nothing ends). Schmendrick and Molly are the fairy-tale couple of that movie, not Lir and Almalthea.
