    In my college days, living in Arkansas, I bought sheet foam and block foam from Hancock Fabrics. I don't know if they have a Hancock Fabrics in your neck of the woods.

    To be honest, I don't know if this is the best foam to use for puppet building. I sure got mileage out of it.

    ... Oh, and they sometimes sell off leftover foam scraps for cheap. I still check fabric stores in my area for scraps - some habits die hard.

    I get mine from Bestway Foams in IN. Very reasonable cost. We use the 1/2" for all the painted puppets we build. And if it is covered with antron we use their 3/4". www.bestwayfoam.com
