Even though for the moment the software will let you put photos in signatures, at this time we will keep the same rules for signatures as before. In the future if there is a way to keep signature images to a consistent size or add additional images to profiles, we'll consider such options. Thanks for your understanding.

    From our forum rules...

    SIGNATURES:
Signatures (the customized greeting that closes your posts) should not exceed four lines, including blank spaces. Signatures may contain your name, a link, or your favorite Muppety quote. In order to reduce scrolling for members, please do not include images in your signatures. They may not contain links to offensive or "adult" sites. Signatures are a great form of expression, but they must be respectful of fellow forum members. You can tell us more about yourself on your profile page. Remember, "Brevity is the soul of wit."

I am not using different colors. You want I should make this headache WORSE?

And only 10k characters per POST? WHAT???!!
You have to be f'in joking me.
That's it. It took mke forever to post a SHORT story today, just as a gift to a friend here. I will no longer be posting fanfic here unless the post length is put back to a respectable limit. There's simply no point.
    I am thoroughly disgusted.

How about having instead of #0 being "I'm new" to: #1 "Welcome!" and for #5000 EPIC!!! And as for the Tom Selleck one, I would do something refering to the Muppets instead.

I have noticed entire threads you've created to actively whine, rant, complain, balk at and riot against YouTube, MySpace, Facebook and DeviantArt. What makes it different when somebody else does it?

When did I create threads specific for MySpace, Facebook and deviantART? I admit I created a YouTube thread regarding the strange and useless upgrades they've gone through, but those other threads were started by other people, and regard other problems.

But I digress, that wasn't entirely my point, I can see that you and DW are taking this especially hard, but again, nothing can be done about it, everybody either has to use this site, or just up and leave if it's that bothersome.

Hmm, I'm still not seeing the difference. The many complaints you have posted about Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and DeviantArt serve less of a purpose on a Muppet Forum than a member's complaint about the forum on this feedback thread.

This is a community and DW was a big part of creating Muppet Central. More so than any active member on the forum today. I don't think he's being unreasonable. He's one of the pillars of this place and I appreciate his feedback on this issue. :super:

Just out of curiosity, what is the default font being used all over the forum now? I don't know what it is but I don't like it...and I see a few people have complained about it as well. Is it the font-face or simply a larger-than-normal font size? I don't know but it doesn't look/feel right to me either.

    Ahhh..OK. Sorry.
    Something I just noticed....
In the old forum if you had someone on Block you couldn't see their posts. Well, what do you do in HERE?

This is a feature slated to be added this summer. Stay tuned to the announcements forum for when it is available.

    Thank you.

I've tried hard to love this new forum, but it's gonna take a lot longer to grow on me, I think. If the colors were bolder, it wouldn't be so hard on my eyes. Otherwise, I can't visit regularly, or post easily. :o

I second this. Can the limit be extended or eliminated? I cannot think of any time on this board when post length has been a problem, and the limit does make it a pain to post fanfic which is the only reason I'm here.

Any chance ya guys could toggle the dimensions of the forum or the spacing of posts? I admit, after playing around a little bit with it, I like the integration and some other things about it. Admittedly, 2002 MC forum got a bit stale. Just as people noted, a few things would help make the forum more aesthetically pleasing.

Tweak is all I'm asking for. At least the forum main menus. They're frightfully small. I'm getting used to most of it, but just... the main forums page needs to be wider and bigger.
  15. beaker Well-Known Member

Yeah I'm getting used to it, just the formatting/odd size/colors are throwing me off. I really hope people haven't jumped ship just yet, Im sure Phil had his reasons for this one. Maybe it was more easy to code/integrate with fb/twitter/etc than other options

An addition to the post size limit issue: the fanfic section has a stickied index thread, which serves as an index to the fic that has been posted there. It goes back for years, and is a very valuable resource. If the post size limit remains in place, that might be jeopardized, as all that link code does eat up characters, even though they are not visible on the screen.

Seriously, has there ever been a problem with people posting too-long posts? Not to my knowledge, though admittedly I've only been here a little over a year. Is the limit a problem? Yep, in the fanfic forum it definitely is. If a compromise need be made, how about extending or removing the limit in that forum only, as that's where the big long posts will be?

Personally I think the new format is starting to grow on me. It does feel like it's quicker, at least for me. :)
  18. D'Snowth Well-Known Member

I'm still experiencing 40-60 second lags each time I click something.
  19. heralde Well-Known Member

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but I believe Abe Vigoda was in The Godfather, not Goodfellas. Just wanted to clarify. :)

Yeah I figured other people might still have difficulties; I guess it depends on the computer in part?
