What did the Mayhem sing?
Yeah... The special usually starts at 8 PM EST (9 PM my time). The first act was Joy To The World sung by Aretha Franklin. Saw the Muppets perform It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. They just lit the tree and it's over. Meh.
It was still a great appearance!
Yeah i heard some local affiliates got an exta hour pre-show and thats when the EM were on, the actual main show just had the main Muppet gang singing "Most Wonderful Time" which looked pre-recorded earlier and inserted to me. Still great though.
It's lovely to see them on something like this, where they should be, and i hope we get to see the pre-show repeated online.
They sang Run Run Rudolph. Lips was in it and Janice and Floyd got to sing a few lines.
Really they used lips wow im shocked!
Although I didn't get to see The Electric Mayhem, though it sounds like it was a good appearance, I thoroughly enjoyed the Muppets appearance. It's nice to bring in the holiday season with the Muppets at the helm.
I really loved the new version of the song. It was good to hear Gonzo, Rizzo, Kermit, Fozzie, Piggy, and Pepe all get to sing a couple lines individually and together! So awesome!
Thanks Disney and NBC!
Agreed, I enjoyed seeing everybody get in on the action for that song. Very well done indeed!
Aw man, that really pigs me off that only certain stations showed the first part - and that not only did i miss seeing one of the Muppets' acts but that i missed out on LIPS! I mean, in the Muppets world seeing Lips back with the EM is huge! That's like George Michael performing with Andrew Ridgely again and being pre-empted!
I'm also kind of miffed that NBC didn't even bother to show a LTS commercial during it. Seems that woulda been a no-brainer since not only was this a special that the Muppets were in, but hosted by Jane K who has a major part in it. Yeah, they mentioned it in the special but seeing an actual commercial for it woulda been nice. Especially since the airing taking place in two days was a last-minute-after-the-tv-guides-were-printed scheduling change. (And sure, maybe like the EM, there may have been a commercial during the first hour, but shouldn't there have been one during the hour that aired everywhere?)
Hey, look at it this way... at least Muppets Studio was out there doing the GREATEST job. It was NBC that fails for us Muppet fans. The Muppets are back, baby! Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem just played a highly exclusive gig and Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Rizzo, and Pepe all sang to the nation while lighting the country's most famous Christmas tree!
Besides... there's probably a good chance that it's gonna pop up on youtube.
Or Hulu... or NBC.com... Fear not, Muppet fans!
For the love of al things holly someone upload the clip to youtube immediately!
I missed the whole thing! I was going back and forth watching "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer" on CBS. I really want to watch that clip!
Man oh man oh man. I'm really mad. I wished i would have came home sooner. I spent the night over at my friends and played Wii all night and never thought about looking online at my emails or nothing. So i missed it too. But at least there are more appearances tomorrow and coming monday.
Oh yeah, btw - what with all the hooplah over the great EM reunion that most of the US didn't see, i forgot to mention the great revelation i discovered watching the hour that was shown here: Barry Manilow and Rod Stewart are the same person.
I really think it is huge for the band to be able to get out and do what they do. I know a lot of fans have been wanting that for a long time, and now we are getting it!
Ohhhhh nooooooez! I missed it, read this thread, and now I am sad. Will it be put on YouTube? Pretty please with rainbow sprinkles? Darn my lack of DVR.
Alas, I also missed the special appearance.
But in my search of the web for the special, I found these pictures of the night:
