@MWoO well, to be fair, as soon as he came into office, their rights were taken off the list in the White House website so you couldn't find it anymore. Let's also not forget he tried to ban transgenders from going into the war.

And yes, I'm aware of the law, a very ridiculous one at that. The fact that he enforced it just shows his true colors. The idea of seperating kids from their parents is disgusting.

I was against illegal immigration in the past and am now indifferent to it. Long as you got a place to call home, that's all that matters.
Ive yet to see any rights actually taken away. He publically stated the bathroom law in north Carolina was a bad idea, though he does feel its a states rights issue and not a federal issue. He hss nit done anything to over turn gay marriage, even though he feels that is also a state issue. Many people seem to forget the point of the federal government vs state government.

The whole thing about baring transgenders from serving in the military was stupid, especially since it was done via tweet. The man really is an idiot.

Illegal immigration puts a burden on law abiding citizens, including legal immigrants. Immigration use to be about coming to live the dream of freedom and working your way into wealth. Now its about becoming part of the welfare state. There is a reason countries with socialized welfare programs are strict on immigration.

As for the children issue, its not like the US broke into homes and stole children. These people broke our immigration laws and were detained. The kids were separated so they didnt need to be on jail with their parents. Not to mention the fact that many families couldnt prove these kids were theirs. There is a large problem of child sex trafficking and the people doing it dont tend to come in legally

Resources are getting thinner in this country and tax payers are taking the burden on for all this free stuff democrats want to give away. We need to pay for non-citizens to get free stuff too?

The question is what rights does he WANT to take away from the gay community and what rights WILL he take away if given the opportunity in the future? As for children of illegal immigrants, children should never have to suffer for mistakes of their parents or their country. Have some **** compassion.

The word "hyperbole" seems to be tossed around in this thread so loosely and lazily as a way to downplay things that are actually happening in the country.

But, watch as everyone else in this thread reproaches me for saying that.

Children suffer all the time for the mistakes of their parents though. Parent is a drug addict? Their kid can be taken away from them and put into foster care. Single parent commits a crime? Their kid can be taken away and put into foster care. Doesn't mean there is no compassion, but that also doesn't mean that we should let criminals go just so their mistakes don't affect the children.

This practice not only acts as a deterrent to illegal immigration it also acts as a deterrent to child sex traffickers that use the southern border. I do have an issue with how this was executed, but not the act in and of itself. The lazy record keeping and the inability to locate certain children is what is terrible, not that they were being detained. Unfortunately the same thing can happen in the foster care system, though not as often.

Saying children were locked in cages is hyperbole in the same way people who said it was like summer camp is hyperbole. It was a child detention center, call it what it is. The term child detention center gives neither a good nor bad connotation where as saying cages is done specifically to horrify people just like saying summer camp is specifically done to put people at ease.

It's a child concentration camp. Yes, children suffer because of others' mistakes, but we should be trying to make it better for them, not worse. It all depends on how much one really cares.

Everyone who enters this country without proper certification is not a hardened criminal. Pretty arrogant attitude with a country that was stolen from Native Americans.
