Hi ho!

Dearth (Nadir) here, otherwise known as Alex Newborn.

Well, we've got a brand-new forum with much easier photo capabilities, and I thought I would go through my old 21-page thread and group all my best photos here in a new thread without you guys having to link somewhere else.

From the Muppet Show:

Kermit in the O diorama (middle of O is hinged and shuts magnetically)

Group shot of various customs

"Simon Smith and his Amazing Dancing Bear"

I separated the Snowths so they could go on either side, the way they ought to be!

Princess Loina and Dearth Nadir... he's made from a daredevil Gonzo figure, a Darth Vader PEZ dispenser and a lot of Sculpey

Years later, I gave Dearth an alternate head for the way he looks in the credits, and finally made his 'Crypto-Anagon Transmitter' accessory

Sgt. Link companion piece for Patrol Bear Fozzie

Cheesecake munchin' on a cheesecake munchin' on a cheesecake!

Valerie Harper episode

Culinary Catastrophe Kitchen

Improved backdrop for the Newsman

"Just for the halibut!"

Say it with me... "Gonzo fiddles while George Burns!"

George Burns in the wings watching Fozzie's "Wotcher" number

custom "Pearlie" Fozzie (detail of back of coat)

Kermit and Jim sing a banjo duet in front of the "Henrietta's Wedding" backdrop

(a Fisher-Price stick puppet Kermit, minus the legs, gives the Jim Henson figure one of his proposed-but-cancelled accessories...)

Muppet Labs backdrop with interchangeable-head Beaker custom

modified Beaker head with removable hair

"Sadly temporary"

Alice Cooper episode (digital composite, but I really do have three of that ghost figure)

"Fresh outta the pan, sweet gingerbread man!"
And in case you ever wondered, here's why the Gingerbread Men didn't make more appearances...

Snacko waves! (Pearl Bailey episode)

Tony Randall episode

Cloris Leachman episode

"I refuse to be treated as a newcomer."
"Fine, you will be treated as a LATEcomer!"

Koozebanian Phoob planetoid-- made from styrofoam, spackle, and paint

Koozebane mega-dio

"Merdlidops!" (Dom Deluise episode)

John Cleese album accessory

"Naked" Robin

"Talk, Chucky!" (Edgar Bergen episode)

Sylvester Stallone episode

Lesley Ann Warren episode (second Link was a commission)

Fozzie with press card for his hat, and "Lady Holliday"

The Muppets Go To The Movies:

Muppets Take Manhattan:

Muppets Treasure Island:

a completely invisible Fozzie, before he washes his hands

Miscellaneous:

Muppet Babies with backdrop

Some hand-painted vinyl Sesame Street figurines. I did these in 1998, awaiting the birth of my first son.

modified Colorforms backdrop for Sesame Street Bendems

Dinosaurs

extra Frog Scouts

This is why customizers don't buy expensive re-decos of existing molds. Hand-painted by yours truly.

Comparison to regular figure

Likewise, this is just a Rowlf that I bought in 2010 for $7.50 on eBay, and then spray-painted him white and grey.

"Round Robin" sidekick for Adventure Kermit

Faux stone pedestal for Gonzo idol

rear angle shows off drybrushing used on Kermit

No. That one, which I neglected to specify as mine in the title, can still be used for general discussion of customs and dioramas, and for anyone to showcase their works.

This one, though, is more the way I wanted my personal thread to look originally, but the old forum wouldn't allow me the flexibility. So it seemed like the perfect opportunity to start over from the beginning and get things a bit more organized (like grouping the pics in a pseudo-chronological sequence).
