    My first Bert Replica.

There is a couple of ways to do it. First way is getting one of those $1 nerf foam balls that is the same color and carve it down. Another way is just taking a foam block from a craft store carve it down and felt it (that is what I did). The other way is to get a styrofoam egg, flatten one side...

    How do I make a Yip-Yip puppet?

Funny you should mention that, becasue that is my next project as well. Planning on getting the blue and pink fabric wich I seen at my local craft store (JoAnns). Geting 2 T rods for each puppet, one for the head and one for the jaw. Inside going to put black fleece. They eyes are going to be...

    Finished Elmo Replica

Llama Boy, As far as I know they are named "Yip Yip Martians" or "The Martians" don't think they had any real name to them. They used to scare me when I was a kid, would even leave the room when I saw them come on TV. But now I believe they will be my next project. Thanks!

    Finished Elmo Replica

I have been asked of friends and family to upload all 3 replicas, Grover, Bert, and Elmo. I never included Grover because he was my first and I don't think he was all that good. But anywho... here they all are together...

    Finished Elmo Replica

The eyes on bert are dome wood disks. Was a real pain to find them. Had to order them online from a wood shop.

    Finished Elmo Replica

Finally got done with Elmo... somewhat. Need to still add the arm rods. His arms seem beefy because of the fur poof when I was brushing him, they are a little bit thinner than in the picture. I may still size em down later on. Well here he is...

    My first Bert Replica.

Finding Bert or Ernie stripes are impossible unless your really lucky and they are carrying the same material from the 70's or 80's. The way I did it was go to a shirt logo place. Bought a white shirt, made the pattern on the computer, then gave it to them to print on both the front and the...

Suggestions to not cut ones self

A sharp samurai sword works nicely! That or get a box cutter and SLOWLY cut it in half.

    My first Bert Replica.

Well at the front door they wanted to charge and entry fee for Bert... A lot of people did some double takes, but I was still able to get out past security! HA!

    My first Bert Replica.

More Pics added to Bert Replica Ok I took 2 more shots at different angles. Bert has his coat on because I took him to Jim Henson's Fantastic World Exhibit at the local museum. Which I may add was pretty cool. So here are the updates...

    My first Bert Replica.

Again I would like to thank everyone for their feedback. I did replicate grover before a few years back. He was my first puppet ever. I couldn't find his exact fur so had to settle for something close. Also his eyes where a little sloppy which I have since corrected. Those are the only...

    My first Bert Replica.

I made the eyes with rubber foam sheets. Made it 2 layers, then spray painted with High Gloss White paint. Had to do a few coats of that. The picture I have posted doesn't seem right to me. I will get more later in different angles.

    My first Bert Replica.

Ya that is what I did. I got a good pic of Bert and got the measurements and ratios. The nose was off tho because I just used what I have. This will be changed shortly. The overlapping is a good idea too tho! I will definitely try it when I make Ernie. Thanks again!
