    My online comic / puppets

Hello old friends! It's been quite a long time since I've been active on this site. I check in from time to time, but I haven't been doing as much puppety as I once had until recently. So I thought I would share! Last year I began an online comic strip about funny encounters my wife and I...

    Interview with Frank Oz.

I was taken aback by Frank's amount of cursing when I first read this interview years and years ago. But since then I've coming to understand how it kind of makes sense that he is a more aggressive, straightforward personality when you think about how well he worked together with the quieter...

    The Broken Puppeteer's Arm

Bummer Kevin, I hope your arm heals well and fast! Drink extra milk :) I broke my arm(s) a few times as a kid. While I was in a cast, I tried my hand at using my left arm (pun intended...). I actually got pretty good with it, and also managed to beat my sister at badminton left-handed...

Another New College Humor Video, Vampire Reunion.

Awesome! Great parody. Bummer they overdubbed your voice though. That happened to me in a production once and I wasn't happy about it either. It looks fantastic still!

    "Sal" the Salmon

The "Sal" the Salmon mascot I built for a local non-profit is finally up on YouTube in the commercial I performed him for this summer! This is set to air on local cable in the next few weeks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HKvCr9ZOuk He also got on the local newspaper's website...

    Henson Ringtones

Hey all, I put up some Henson ringtones on my webspace for anyone to download. I made them in Garageband for my iPhone. Since they're just 30 seconds, I figure it's not infringing on any copyrights since that's how long MP3 sellers preview songs for anyway... Mahna Mahna...

    Mascot Head Lenses

If you're looking for a mesh fabric that will hide the performer, I just did a project using black Crepon that I got from Jo-Ann Fabrics. My head is in the dorsal fin in this picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/31470569@N08/3782022273/ If you're looking for large plastic lenses, what I used...

    I just made a salmon

I made the head of L-200 foam, and the body out of some sheets of 1/2" "ethafoam" that I got from Tap Plastics. The fins are made of black crepon — a light-weight, see-through, dense mesh fabric. After giving the body two coats of latex paint to minimize chipping, I just used some different...

    I just made a salmon

Hey fellow builders/puppeteers. I just finished building and performing a 9-foot salmon puppet-costume and thought I'd share some photos with you all. My photo stream includes some scans of concept drawings, shots of the building process, and photos of the puppet on location...

    Cutting Foam @ 45º

I'm going to be making a large puppet out of hi-density foam, so since it will lack some flexibility I will need to cut some of my edges at 45º angles. Does anyone know if there is a tool or method out there to help cut accurately at this angle? Thanks in advance!

    New puppet: Walt Mossberg!

Nice work! Is he going to have a nose? It looks like Walt's is a fairly prominent feature.
