i think the only way any of us will achieve true catharsis at this point, will be if somene is able to get a hold of the editor and or producer who came up with this bit. if we can find out the inspiration/goal behind this film, then perhaps we can determine what about this piece is so fu#$ing...

there is a band called "the residents"...go to like amazon.com or tower.com and sample some of their music. see if it doesn't sound vaguely similar to the music used the I Beam film. also, i've been playing I Beam to pretty much everyone i work with, and someone suggested that the music sounds...

Wow. I feel so much better about this whole thing now. Phew. It really was scarry. I asked my dad (who's a psychologist by the way) why he thinks I was so scared by this (he stood witness to me running out of the room screaming and crying many times) and he said he thinks it was the music...

I Beam I BEAM, I BEAM I BEAM!!!! I, as an 8 or 9 year old, would run out of the room in hysterics, like i had just seen the face of the devil! The scary muisic, the firery image of the I beam being forged, nothing was ever more scary on Sesame, or really on any other show i was watching at...

Ok, I need help. Does anyone remember a non-animated bit that I remembered seeing in the mid to late 80s. It was of an I beam moving through a steel factory type setting. It was all orange and hot, and the music playing was just bizzare?
