Me too.

As others have stated, Jim Hill and even his fellow columnists (Cory Mitchell, etc.) act like know-it-alls. It's like they're saying "I've got inside sources and you don't, so I'm cooler than you" or something like that.

They even manage to make even the most positive Disney news sound negative (such as the articles that they wrote about Roy Disney, Stanley Gold and the SaveDisney movement, for example).

Jim Hill and co. hardly ever say anything positive or optimistic, no matter how good or bad whatever news that comes out of the Disney company may be. And just about everything they write is based on pure speculations and personal opinions, rather than actual information...and they're almost always wrong!

So, please take everything that you hear at such places as Jim Hill Media with a grain of salt.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who feels that way.

JimHillMedia is the biggest anti disney, Disney lover fansite. Kind of a paradoxial nature going on...but I happen to love his articles on Muppetdom. It's clear he has a pasison for em, which is rare in this day and age. I like hearing a mix of optimism and sheer cynicism as well.

Ok...so to bring up the score column...

Disney's Muppet Pros:

Has gone to great efforts to keep the Disney name/brand far away
from the Muppets...going so far as to create the red herring
company "Muppets Holding Company LLC"
Released the most comprehensive Muppet Show package yet
Have pushed the Muppets in a short time on a national scope
Got the Muppets on SNL for the first time in almost 30 years
Helped launch the very cool bi weekly Statler and Waldorf at the movies
Making a new Xmas holiday special
Launching a Kermit 50th celebration campaign

Disney's Muppet Cons:

Plans to drag the Muppets into reality tv heck
A seriously bad and amatuer Muppets logo
Not recognizing Kermit's 50th as a general "50 years of Muppets" campaign
the fact they may go ahead and do another lame classic retelling for tv

Egads, the pros outweigh the cons it looks like.

I can't fault Disney for Oz(even tho I completely hated that thing) as that was in the works long before they came around. And who really knows what the Muppets would be up to had JHC not sold em to Disney.

just thinking

I kinda wonder, what would happened if Frank Oz came back to direct the muppets? Mabey Oz would have stayed the Classic Muppet Style. what do you think?
