Why is everybody pronouncing this word as "assoSHEEates" now?

I say whichever strikes my fancy. Us Okies are allowed to do that, since we can barely speak anyway ;)

.... um, what are you trying to say? I know what it looks like you're trying to say, but I don't think you can say that on this forum. ;)

I'll admit, I had to look at it for a little while before I understood what was being asked.

My first thought kinda went along the :o category.

You know...I am struck by the knowledge that I have no idea how I would pronounce that in British. I keep thinking "***-o-shi'at-es" but maybe ***-o-sea-ates"...difficult. And oh so hilarious to write out.

ya'll just be careful on how you go typing it out ;)

I wonder if I could post an article about donkey hybreds on this website...

"The wild *** may mean the wild donkey, or it may mean its wild relative the onager, also known as a "half ***" -another animal of the horse genus..." Nope, I guess not. And by the way, I am laughing my asterisx off right now as it is.

    Bea:zany:{And besides, I am British! My *** has one S an R and an E in it!}regard

All I know is that it's supposed to be pronounced "assoSEEates", not "assoSHEEates".

Its supposed to be pronounced a-so-she-ates.

That is most likely why people are saying it like that.

You two are supposed to have each other on your ignore lists so you don't see each other's posts. I'm not asking either of you again: IGNORE LIST one another. NOW.
