I've been "standing up" from the moment I joined......

Then stand up with us and write thouse e-mails or make thoues calls we need all the help we can get!!!
From the day I joined, I have been "standing up" for what I believe: that since Elmo and co. have "taken over" SS, it's not only the program that is suffering. It's ALL the muppets, and the message that Jim Henson tried to give the world through their creation; that being the importance of equality, from all perspectives and from all different walks of life. I, myself, could care less about who gets "the credit" in the end when all is said and done, all I care about is getting it done! And I have already started by, first of all, never introducing Elmo toys to my house. Every Elmo toy that gets purchased is, IMO, just one more nail in the coffin of all the other muppets. I have been very carefull to make sure that my kids get equal exposure to ALL the muppets when it comes to T.V. by showing them older, recorded episodes, rather than the Elmo-saturated shows of today. And I can allready see it paying off. Not only do I still have my sanity intact, but my pocket book is still intact, as well! As for e-mails and the like, I did a full research on the subject and came to the conclusion that petitions, especially internet petitions, are not even worth the time they take because they are never taken seriously by major corporations like SW. Personal letters, on the other hand, that are actually received by the people at SW DO get taken seriously, in fact even more so. When SW receives a letter, with a personal signature on it (rather than just a typed-in name that could have been put there by anyone) THAT, my friends, gets their attention!

.......and just as easily as letters can be "thrown away" and e-mails can be "deleated", phone calls can also be "hung up on". Listen, I do respect what you are trying to do here, really I do. But there is a right and a wrong way to go about it, and, personaly, I just don't see "screaming" over the phone, demanding that someone produce a line of toys for me, as the "professional" way of doing it. :attitude: (Plus, I have to hard a time paying for my gas and electricity as it is to also have to worry about making additional long-distance phone calls to companies that don't have toll-free numbers.)

Frist of all you don't scream! you ask nicely 2. I have never been hung up on. every one I have spoke to have been truly intersted they even called be back. 3 i do not demand i point out the there this new line comeing out and would they please carry it. and as fot the Phone bill that is your choice you can also try e-mail I perfer the Phone. As far i can tell Palisades Toys is the one makeing them so i do not have to demand that someone produce a line of toys for me it being done for every Sesame Street Fan I the world! All i need to do is ask useing the Please and Thank You and be calm Do not use and attitude and ask who ever you contact start with saying HI: could you pleae tell me if your going to carry the Sesame Street Toy line from Palisades Toys and if not could you please. Then give any other info that they ask for say thank you and hang up. No attitude need! and that is how you can ask and BE NICE ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

(Scroll down to "Still Have a Question?" then click "contact us by e-mail")

I'd recommend keeping your questions clean, with manners in check! I'll be writing the same e-mail to every company, and it's important to give them your contact info so they know that it's a real person contacting them, not just repeat e-mails from one person/crazed fan.

Don't know if it'll help much unless you get a bunch of people to do it. I'm gonna see about contacting Warrick and see if he'll do for Sesame Street figures what he did for Fraggle Rock Season Sets on DVD.

Maybe e-mail your regular e-mail contacts some of these links with a pre-written letter they can just copy and paste. The more the merrier right?

Best of Luck!
