Well, I can understand Rowlf, since the character is so top heavy, but with Scooter, surely they have someone who could perform the character & voice reasonably well?

Hi guys, thanks for checking out the article over on ToughPigs.com!

I can confirm that Scooter plays a role larger than the last few movies. Likewise, all of the Electric Mayhem characters have at least a few lines of dialogue each. I didn't find out anything about Rowlf, but Kirk Thatcher does like to put fan favorite characters in the backgrounds, so you never do know.

I did ask who would be voicing Scooter, but I didn't get a clear answer. Some folks thought it would be Ricky Boyd again, and some said David Rudman. I guess only time will tell on that one.

Oh, and regarding the pictures on the article, I pulled those off of Flickr, where you'll find some more great images from the shoot. Unfortunately, I'm not blessed with a digital camera, so I'm not able to use any of the ones I took until I get them developed.

One thing that is perfectly clear, right now, is that the special will air during the 2009 holiday season.

It is now slated for 2008 on NBC.

Oh good. They moved it up to this year.

I'm looking forward to this, but isn't it rather sudden? I wonder how long this has been in the works?

At any rate, I am extremely excited over this news. I think a Christmas special will bring the Muppets into the public eye. Christmas specials, from my experience, really tend to bring families together. And I by being shown on the NBC network, I think the target audience will be widened in comparison to Studio DC.

    Eee! Excitement!

Teheheh. Indeed! To hear about all of these different projects is one thing, but when it actually hits you that they are going through with the projects, it just makes the excitement swell up.

Perhaps this excitement is premature, but I have hope!

AH I wonder if Kermit will be in the Macey thanksgiving day parade.

    Maybe he will...

I wouldn't be surprised if we do see Kermit in the parade. I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't, considering it could be great potential publicity for the special. It would be especially great to see both a balloon, and maybe appearances by the Muppets themselves. While this is just my own wishful thinking, I think it will be excellent publicity.

True that, but to some, any publicity is good publicity. I don't subscribe to this thinking, but to each their own.

You know what I love more than anything else I have heard or seen yet. Camilla was there, right there with the others, wearing a scarf, and obviously looking gooey-eyed at her Gonzo. Camilla...She was there...

Also! (Yes, I am reading too much into one teensy little photo), Animal was *not* there which may mean he hasn't been given solo-status for this movie as one of the "gang" but is instead placed in scenes with the Electric Mayhem?

This sounds interesting, and I am very glad that The Muppets are still making new projects and such, but nothing competes with Muppet Family Christmas
    and/or Muppet Christmas Carol

Nothing does compete with Muppet Family Christmas, because it brings the extended family together.

    I have a confession to make ....
Well, see ... the thing is ..... (Golly, how do I say this?)
...I've never seen Muppet Christmas Carol.

    :o I'm so ashamed.

ToughPigs.com referred to "letters to Santa" as a production title. I can't help but think of other titles that might work, considering what little plot information we know.
How about "A Muppet Christmas Mishap"?
or, "A Muppet Christmas Mishop"? .... ok, maybe not.

If you could rename this special, what would you think of?
