Wow found some pix!
Laszlo your a gem *hugs* all the pickies YAY! I cant believe they did the Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe, thats like my favourite kids programme, fond memories . Great we can see this, and good for them to show their range of talents and glorious work, no Labyrinth? But Dark Crystal!!!
Thanks so much Laszlo!!! Are some of these just duplicates?
I second that motion. Everything's so far away from a lot of us!
MAN I wish I could go to those....
Sorry to get off subject... fluffmuppet, who's that in your avatar?
It's my puppet I made about 3 years ago..her name is Gazami..I like to call her Red Fraggle & Gonzo's love child LOL! Here's a pic:
I spoke to Brian Froud many years ago. He said some of the puppets on exhibitions have heads and hands casted in fiberglass (from the master molds), because the foam rubber originals are already rotten.
I would say that's a good thing. Fiberglass is very durable, so the original sculptures are preserved for many years to come
That is a very wise decission, it makes sense to work with the latex as it is so durable, but for our beady eyes, and to preserve the history, unlike the poor rotten Hoggle, its very mportant that i think they produce such things for us to view. And how glad I am they do, even if I can only view them on a computer screen.
This is so unbelieveably off topic but I just had to right it down, I've been searching and found out that this summer in england there are a ton of puppet shows on, i will most definitly be going to see them as they are all near me, there is Rust, by a company called Green Ginger, who say they have worked with the Henson Company- watch a clip of them in action here http://www.greenginger.net/Rust3min.html it looks rather creepy which is what I like. And there is also a production called Fallen Star by the Collaborators Theatre Company http://www.collaboratorstheatre.co.uk/shows.htm
And there is also a puppet festival on in Buxton, with many shows for adults and children. My how spoilt we are! I can't wait to see some live action puppet shows.
Very Cool! That would be an amazing exhibit to see, and I just might if its still going on in a few weeks.
It is! I'll try to get some pics, no flash though, so we'll see.
that would be great! Keep us updated!
ps, I'm the guy from the statue forum with the Hoggle 1/1 bust, nice to see you here as well!
I got this from a member of the Effects Lab.
Will look forward for your pics. Thanks in advance!
Thanks Neil! Who's the four guy down in the corner?
Its great to see that the puppets are still around in some form, i went to the exhibition at the warrington museum, and it was sad to see the state of hoggle and some of the others.
Hello fellow muppet friends!
I was at the exhibit today and noticed that there's several pics that have not been shown yet! That's sooo not fair to those of you who have no way of seeing this amazing (FREE!) exhibit! SO, in lieu of those who are dying to see these awesome creatures, behold my mighty collection of childhood memories! To the pics!
And now the REALLY good stuff!:
The door knocker was surprisingly HUGE! I'm not sure if you can tell, but it's realy big!
Yeesh, Augra is FUGLY!
And I threw this one in for good fun...I mean C'MON! you would have too!
Anyway, enjoy the pics! I hope I didn't go too overboard with the pic postings!
AMAZING PICS my friend! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!
I wish I could be there... :-(
