Film music is one of the things I can't get over. I mean, it's great if you see a phenomenal movie, but it's a whole different thing if you go see a phenomenal movie with phenomenal music!
This thread is to discuss which soundtrack(s) and/or film composer(s) are your favorite! Here's a few of mine!

Composers (and the soundtracks I like that they've written)
Howard Shore is my favorite, but after that they aren't in any particular order!
-Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings trilogy)
-John Williams (wide variety, not any soundtrack in particular)
-James Newton Howard (Signs)
-Harald Kloser (The Day After Tomorrow)
-Brian Tyler (Children of Dune)
-Iva Davies, et all (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World)
-Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean)
-Randy Newman (Seabiscuit)

Those are just some of the great film composers and soundtracks out there, at least to me. Share your favorites!
 :halo: :flirt:

Howard Shore would have to be my favorite too for the same reason. Also John Williams and James Horner. There's lots of movies whose soundtracks I love, but I can't think of the composers...

I'm a huge fan of movie and TV Music, infact its one of my favourite genres after muppet music and musicals!

I have very strange taste in film scores. I really like the music from Shrek, the score but I also like the actual music too. I love the music from the film "Vertical Limit" and heaps of others, I can't list them all here!

I really love John Williams--always have. One of my favorite scores is from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (also my favorite movie).

I've always loved film music. It's one of the best (and only) outlets for new orchestral music that can embrace classical traditions and not necessarily feel the need to write against them. Nothing like a nice lush full-orchestral score...

We're thinking along the same lines! I also love it when there's a choir, especially in something like The Lord of the Rings. A full-blown choir and orchestra adds something to a film that nothing else could. "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" does have very good music! I also love the music from "Saving Private Ryan" by John Williams, although I never have seen the film. I have a best of John Williams CD that has a lot of great stuff on it!

As a choir guy, I've got to agree. I love hearing a choir in a film score. I always wish I were in it.
