Hi guys, since this doesn't necessarily have to do with the Muppets thought I'd post here.

OK, here's the deal. Trying to create a world of characters of my own, who each have a number connected to them. The thing is every time I get started I get discouraged easily after racking up a sizeable lead in my mind. Guess the problem is that I can't draw out my ideas any more after my blind battye eyes grew out of focus hindering my drawing abilities greatly.

Anyway... These characters should styled to feel at home within the home of the master of mathematics and monsters himself. You know who I'm talking about.
Think of it as a sort of picturesque collection of Halloween notable names in monsterdom, gathered with classic mythic monsters and beings based on inanimate objects that also fit the bill like a candle or a black rose or a lightningbolt. Stuff like that.

Got some choices/ideas for each position, but I wanted to hear what you guys have to say before making a decision.
If you need it, post here and LMK if it'd be helpful for me to post the Monster Roster I have saved on one of my files.
Rully hoping that with your suggestions I can finally have something I like and can build upon.

So... Like I was saying...

Here are a few ideas/choices for #1.

The Cyclops, cause his prominent monster feature is having 1 eye.
The Unicorn, cause its prominent monster feature is having 1 horn hence its name.

The Penny, cause it represents 1 cent.
The Candle, cause it looks as skinny as a number 1.
The Skeleton, cause it also looks as skinny as a number 1.

The Undertaker, cause "un" sometimes means 1, but also cause of his ominous presence matching the voice of the number 1 from the Counting Organ on SS.

Or... You can post an idea for something else to base the #1 Counting Creature in this thread.
Hope to hear some replies soon and have a good day.

OK. From the suggestions you put there, I think the coolest would probably be The Candle. Sounds like a great idea, Ed!

Thanks TA. Will wait for some more feedback, if it comes, before making a decision. Guess the whole thing with Palisades has messed me up and now I think who should go at which number instead of just going with my impulses like when I was younger. Hmmm, if the candle were to go at 1, I'd have to see if the rest of the lineup would support a changeup.
Then again, I might just go with my own choice. But I do thank you greatly for posting and hope to get some more feedback, if any, soon.

I like the cyclops idea, sounds like he'd be an awesome character to have!

Thanks Ryan. A bit more on the home front.

Think of the castle as an open-faced diarama. The thing's divided into six rooms for now, maybe later additions will come.

Lower left is the Transylvanian Kitchen. Basically a gutsied-up version of the Kitchen playset. Ghostly white would dominate, but it'd have all the rest of its paint as well. Cobwebs in the windows and a few other touches I could explain in another post.
Upper left is the Music Dungeon. Here's where the band would go and I have ten monsters picked out with instruments, chief among them the Phantom of the Opera on the grand organ. Other instruments may be added as well, just not sure what creature would be a good idea for said instrument. Can go into detail on that later as well.
Upper right would be the Spookhouse Cinema decked in smoky red brickwork with doors and a popcorn machine inside, and movie/video cassette posters of the offerings to watch.
Lower right would be the Old Tombs Library. Slate gray columns and creaking bookshelves with enough space for a table and chairs for reading.
The center is a two-floored area known as the Atrium. The stairs are on the righthand side with a springloaded feature. There's a railing all the way from the stairs to the left, kind of like the Backstage playset. Also, like that playset, there'd be two doors marked by bat insignias leading to two different castle areas. The lower left of the first floor would be a sort of impromptu un-living area with fireplace and television set.

What I want to do is populate this with creatures and monsters each with a number of their own of course, so that it feels like Halloween all over, Thanksgiving due to the grim gathering, yet with some festive Winter touches that blend the whole thing together.
Will probably end up posting the Monster Roster so we can discuss candidates for each numbered position as the cast for the castle grows.

And that's one vote each for the Candle, and no the Cyclops as well. Will talk with you guys tomorrow after posting the list of candidates to see which'd be better to go with.
Have a good night and don't let the batty bats bite.

OK... As promised, here's the Monster Roster I've got with all sorts of creatures from monsterdom and myth and zoological origin. Don't be put off by the total entries, heck this is nothing compared to the Muppet Listings. But anyway, we don't have to bring in every single entry on this list into the castle... Just all those that I myself will want to bring in. If you have any questions about any of the entries, don't hesitate to ask.

Let's concentrate on the being we want as #1 first, and we'll go one by one from there drawing from the list of names here. Hope to hear some feedback on you guys later.

Hmmm... Not sure if this thread should stay up. Oh well, maybe when I finish with the fanfic, I can plug this there and have more come here.

As an update... Decided on going with the Candle humanoid for #1. Only thing I'd like to ask...
Should she be holding the 1 in her hands? Or should it be plastered in high relief on the candle holder's body around her waist?
LMK and I can take it from there, before moving on to the next position to fill.
Hope to hear from someone soon and have a good weekend.

*Beau comes in and hears Bo... "But what if she needs to go to the bathroom really badly?"
*Hearing Beau... No, he means... Oh, never mind.

Done. Will do some writing and post back when ready for next castle dweller.
