    Hey y'all,
The Muppet Musicians of Bremen, The Frog Prince, Hey Cinderella, um, how good are they?? Real classics.:) I thought we should make a thread about them. Y'know... discuss our fave Tale of muppetland, fave characters, fave moments, stuff like that.

Well, i can't decide on my favorite. Maybe the Muppet Musicians? I remember when i first got it on video. I just loved the music and the different characters, and the timeless humour.

    Anyway, what about you guys?

The last time I saw The Frog Prince and Hey Cinderella was when I was pretty little, so I don't remember much, but I do remember that I loved them. I don't know if I've ever seen Muppet Musicians of Bremen, though.

They really need to put them out on DVD.

I watched the frog prince and I always liked it.

When I was little, I used to have all three. Unfortunately, Hey, Cinderella and The Musicians of Bremen got lost at some point (grrr that still makes me sad).

I still have The Frog Prince though. It's a funny look at the fairy tale. I like all of Kermit's frog friends. Same with Hey, Cinderella, it's fun watching the fairy godmother's many many attempts at turning a pumpkin into a coach. And Kermit has some nice moments. Back when he was a little more fun loving and cheeky.

"No way lady! You're not turning me into no coachman, I like being a frog! It's all I know." :)

I was fortunate enough to see The Musicians of Bremen recently. It's very inspirational. It's nice to see all the poor mistreated animals come together and become a family.

I'd be thrilled if they'd put them on DVD. I almost got as copy of Bremen on DVD a year or two ago (copied from the old 80's tape), but the guy was a crook and it didn't work out.

I miss these. I've never seen The Musicians of Bremen, but I have seen Hey Cinderella and The Frog Prince. My grandmother had The Frog Prince on taped off of some television broadcast, but I can't find it.
I agree that these need to be out on DVD, and I'd buy them or have someone get them for me in a heartbeat.

I saw the Hey Cinderella dvd (or vhs I can't remember) at Blockbuster. So maybe you could search at your local store.

yeah! it must have been a VHS, I have the old 1993 release's that Disney put out on VHS back when it was the "Jim Henson Video" label, funny how the other 2 came out on VHS but NOT Muppet Musicians of Bremen and plus Disney HASN'T released any Muppetland shows on dvd... as of yet! :smirk:

    Oh My!!!

I didn't realize those films were still so hard to find. YOU POOR THINGS! My sister bought me The Muppet Frog Prince and Hey Cinderella on VHS in the 90's. I think she found them at a dollar general store in NY. I recently put my old recorded version of Muppets Musicians of Bremen on DVD. Those are so classic! They need to release them! I just realized that the woman who plays Cinderella in Hey Cinderella was Doogie Howser’s mom! I think it was the first thing she was ever in! :)

“Featherstone, is that carriage being pulled by a purple shaggy monster....and is that a frog driving it?”

These three specials need a DVD release...soon.

    Come on Disney!

I remember in Hey, Cinderella that Splurge had a thing for Radishes!

Hmm. I wonder if these guys ever had an inflatable cousin---> :smirk: :excited:

    HEY!!! That's right SuperScooter!

“What does this nose remind you of? A radish?” :)

I'm totally in favor of a DVD release for these three. I'd snatch them up first day in the stores.

I haven't actually even seen the Musicians, but I've got the Frog Prince and Hey Cinderella on VHS. A friend and I will periodically sing a line or two of the song "Sweetums Lay Your Ugly Head" as a wonderful in-joke or intone "Radish?" in a pseudo-Splurge voice. Great, great shows.

My fave would have to be the Frog Prince, although sadly I don't really remember MMOB too well. So really just between "Hey Cinderella" and "Frog Prince," FP would be my fave.

I have both "Hey Cinderella" and "Frog Prince" on VHS, which I still wacth from time to time. I've seen Frog Prince on Ebay and amazon from time to time and I've seen it go for as good as $26, which is pretty high for an old used VHS. So that's a little bit of proof that people want these, so a DVD release would be very good for Disney. If only they knew,:zany:

I have every Tale of Muppetland. Theyr'e all fuzzy-looking :p except The Muppet Musicians in Bremen, which is in great condition. ;)

The only one I haven't seen is The Frog Prince. I really oughta find it.

The Muppets Musicians of Bremen is really very good. For the most part, though, the voices are done by people other than the Muppeteers. (Jerry and Jim use their voices for a couple of characters, but that's about it)
  18. MrsWembly New Member

I know Jerry did the voice of T.R. the Rooster

    “No funeral, no coffin....just dumplins.”

And Jim did the voice of Mean Floyd. I always laugh at Mean Floyd. Jim cracks me up with that one!

“Please don't hurt me Mr. Ghost!” “Why you aint no ghost, you're Rover Joe!”

My favorite part of Hey Cinderella! are Jerry and Frank as the two step sisters, they are hilarious. Especially when deciding what present to give to the King. In order to find out what the richest person in the kingdom wants, they ask the poorest person in the kingdom (Cinderella) what she would want. Then they'd buy the opposite gift for the King. Cinderella says she wants a new hair ribbon.

Stepsisters: "The opposite of new is old, so whatever we get should be something old!

"A hair ribbon's something you wear on the top of your head, so we should get something you at the bottom of your feet."

    "...Socks!"

Stepmother: "Wonderful! The perfect present for a King. The opposite of a new hair ribbon...old socks!"

Lol, classic Muppet humor from the beginning!

My favorite character in Hey Cinderella is the king. He is hilarious! I love at the end where the fairy godmother makes the king appear instead of Cinderella and he's drinking wine.

“WOW! hey Featherstone, get the name of this stuff and order a case of it.”
