    Hey all,

Henson.com has been updated. Check it out. :excited:

Unfortunatly all Muppet, Sesame Street, and Bear references have been taken down and you now have to go to their new owners websites to get any info on them. :(

It looks like a nice site. Although alot is still under constructions and "coming soon". It's about time they updated, until this update it still refereanced Jack and the Beanstalk as an upcoming project. I really like it, it's better than that green site they had before. I give it two thunbs up. It's sad to see the Muppet leave the site (but I'm glad to see Henson is moving on and focusing on their other creations now), I am excited that they'll have their own site coming this month as well.

It is about time that they finally updated the site, but it does look a lot nicer than the old site. :D

I did not see Kermit up there at all. Kermit seperated from JIm is a plain sin.

Obviously it still has some work to do, but I think it's a beautiful little site so far. I love the little doodles of creatures used on each page. It's a nice mix of silly and classy.

    Change is GOOD, right?

That's what I keep telling myself. But, I have to agree with Scary on this one: Jim and Kermit just ARE one in the same in my eyes. This, from www.Henson.com, just makes me blue:

In February 2004, The Walt Disney Company and The Jim Henson Company signed an agreement for Disney to buy the "Muppets" and "Bear in the Big Blue House" franchises, including all worldwide production, distribution and merchandising rights. All inquiries regarding Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House should now be directed to The Walt Disney Company. The phone number for their corporate headquarters is 818.560-1000 or you can visit them on line at www.disney.com

    Sigh. "change-is-good-change-is-good-change-is-good-change-is-good-change-is-good-change-is-good. . . "

I was in a good mood, but seeing Henson.com sans Kermit and pals was a real downer. At least Red Fraggle is all cute and crazy in the Entertainment button.

It's really sad that I click muppets and the only info i get is that Disney bought them and I click Sesame Street and the only real ifo I get is that Sesame Workshop bought them. I mean, we are talking about decades of work and the first creations of Jim Henson, and all we get are links to other sites? Can't they at least give some history or something? And Kermit has been taken away from the Henson Compnay logo it seems. And it looks like the can not call the fraggle muppets. The word Muppet not being used on a Henson site is very very wrong.

Could someone explain what the new site looks like? My computer's slow and there are no graphics on the main page, only just well, nothing. I go to www.henson.com/index2.html and see the green background and the Kermit head of the previous site.

Are there new sections, are Muppet/Bear/Sesame stuff completely gone, or is it still "under construction?"

Unfortunately, there are just blurbs about the purchases. :sympathy:

OK, now all of a sudden I can see it. Nice look, hardly anything there anymore, but nice look.

The main sucky part is that all of the audio and video clips are gone. But most of the good ones were deleted when Henson.com was redesigned two years ago anyway. Oh well...

I didn't really notice that all of the other audio clips were gone. :sympathy:

Try Internet Archive's Way Back Machine

You can use this site to see older versions of Web sites.
(Assuming they're archived. It's a really cool site to use.) :)

well, I've never been against Disney's purchase of the muppets, and understand that it's the only way that they'll ever live on into the future. That being said, looking at that web site I just get a gut "sinking feeling". That's just sad and wrong for some reason :(

Finally realized today that Disney owning Kermit is not really what bothers me - it's Henson NOT having him that does. Ripping the Henson logo away from Kermit's face is really, really sad.
