What? No Belushi on the Top 10 SNL list??
Yeah, Chevy was great there...but it seems to have been the high point of his career. Ditto that for Mike Meyers...

I am a bit mixed on how I feel about John Belushi (I assume you didn't mean Jim). I feel like his characters are hit-or-miss (though I really like his sammuri character). I've only seen one of his movies, Animal House, and haven't seen that one too often nor am I in any big hurry to see it again anytime soon. He didn't do too many movies unfortunately due to him dying at a young age (and I know many of them weren't successful). And of course we all know how he hated having the Muppets on SNL (as well as his jelaousy of Chevy Chase).

I thought he was just as great in the Vacation movies (even if not all of them are the best he's still great in them all), his Follow That Bird cameo, and Man of the House. And I agree, Mike Meyers isn't as big as he was when the last Austin Powers movie was made. I liked the first Shrek, and like the fourth one better than the 2nd and 3rd, though I liked the franchise best when it was new.

I guess I didn't really think about whether that list was for cast members I really liked for their performances on the show itself or ones I like altogether. Heck, in general I like Adam Sandler and David Spade a lot better than most of the original cast (and Bill Murray), but I like the original five years the best. And even when rating the original cast, I prefer Dan, Chevy, Bill, Jane, and Gilda to John, Lorraine, and Garrett.

I watch it occasionally but not often. And when I do see it it's usually the 1980s episodes, which I don't find too funny. I think the early ones, with Trapper John, Radar, and a crossdressing Klinger, are a lot funnier and better. Even the Mad Magazine parody from the early years is better than the Mad parody that came out when the show was ending.

I considered doing a Tex Avery list, but I've had trouble thinking up 10 WB shorts he directed that I really like. Then I considered making it a WB/MGM combo, but even then I can't think of enough. I'm not as big on MGM as I am on WB or Disney, and the only Avery-directed MGM shorts I could think of including are Red Hot Riding Hood and King Size Canary.

Maybe I'll figure out what ten Avery-directed shorts are my favorites.
