Not to butt into your conversation, and not to be mean, but this isn't what this thread is for.

Whoops! (This is becoming a word of high importance in my lexicon...)

I'll move this to another thread... OK, there already is one. Why am I here? Actually, that sounds like the cue for another poem:

Why am I here and not there?
Where did I come from?
What is God and does he exist?
What is my purpose in life?
Why are some things of such a high value?
Why do I have so many friends?
And most importantly, why is Baby Bear such a high-placing character on Sesame Street?

One Simple Question. By: Nyssa T.

Do you believe in Faerie?
A simple question
With a complicated answer.
Do you believe in Faerie?
Everyone has heard this question
And has formed an answer.

First comes the heartfelt “yes.”
The hopeful, almost desperate answer
Of those who wish to believe,
But deep down inside,
They question this belief
With the logical part of their mind.

Then comes the quick “no.”
The definite, unquestioning answer
Of those who believe in facts,
But deep down inside,
They are trying to convince themselves
That nothing like this could exist.

Finally comes the thoughtful “I wish, but no.”
The sad, but honest answer
Of those who live and love fantasy,
But deep down inside,
They realize that Faerie
Is more a state of mind, then a place.

For a moment,
Consider Faerie for what it is,
And not what you think it to be.
Take some time,
Throw away your beliefs,
And examine the truth underneath.

Ask yourself these questions…
What is Mans fascination with Faerie?
What made him start to believe?
What made him start to forget?
What is the importance of Faerie?
Do I believe?

My answers?
The mystery of it all.
The hope that there is a little magic out there.
Science, logic, fact, and reason.
To teach us to hope and believe in things.
“I wish, but no.”

Some see Faerie as an idea,
Personified by our subconscious,
Made up of the stories in our minds.
Others see Faerie as real,
A dangerous world,
Made up of magical creatures.

The reality of life is mortality.
Man believes in Faerie
To escape this simple fact.
Man uses fantasy…
To tell stories of heroes and magic.
To make himself immortal.

For a moment,
Consider Faerie,
Examine the truth,
Realize the reality,
And ask yourself,
Do I believe in Faerie?

I miss childhood, when the littlest thing could entertain you for hours and all you needed to play was a bed sheet and a few pillows. Where did the time go?

Fireflies By: Nyssa

What a simple creature,
And yet its so complex.
What a simple creature,
That during the day does rest.

When the fiery light goes out,
And the shining disk doth rise,
The fireflies come out,
And ascend towards the skies.

Their light, thou small,
Is bright, shining in small eyes.
Clasped between hands so small.
A treasure are these fireflies.

A child peeks through closed fingers,
And gold these eyes do spy.
When open do these fingers,
The gold away shall fly.

Up it goes, to the midnight sky,
Taking with it a small prize.
Away the children fly, up into the sky,
Away they go, with these fireflies.

When I was Young... By: Nyssa

When I was young
And short of height
I made a fort
And fought a fight.

Surrounded with no way out,
A battle raging at my door.
My fellows were dieing
And blood stained the floor.

My enemy was strong
And quick of wit.
He was well protected
And my arrow could not hit.

But when the battle was almost lost,
The tables turned to my favor.
A weakness was found,
And soon a win I did savor.

My enemy lay wrecked
And ruined.
He sailed away,
My strength was proven.

Then came a call from the sky,
"Child put your toys away!"
I laughed and grinned
As my world just slid away.

A blanket tied around my neck,
A mess lay spread across my floor,
My follows mere stuffed animals,
And Mother stood at the bedroom door.

When I was young
And short of height
I made a fort
And fought a fight.

Here is a song I wrote today. I wish you could hear the tune, but I hope you like it any way. It's called My Silly Boy.

Another day of school with no end,
Another day of school with my friends.
I see the boy I love,
And he smiles at me.
Will he miss me,
When I leeeave?

Chorus:
Will he hold me...
On those cold winter nights?
Will he kiss me...
When the time is right?
Will he forgive me...
When we fight?
Will he still love me tooooniiight?

There are questions running through my head,
There are questions, like how will it end?
But he smiles at me,
And now I'm ha-ap-py.
We're meant to be,
Oh, can't you see?

*Chorus

I think I'm falling in love with him,
I think I'm jumping off of a cliff.
On the way down,
Will he ca-etch me?
Will he stay with me?
Or will he leeeave?

*Chorus

Another day of school with no end,
Another day of school with my friends.
I see the boy that I love,
And he smiles at me.
Will he miss me,
Wheeen I leeeave?

Will he miss me, wheeeen I leeeeeave?

(I wish I knew how to play the guitar.)

I'm no poet
and you know it
If I was I'd show it
But since I'm not I'd just blow it

But you do very well
As others can surely tell
Some people just have the knack
Course we all have some areas where we lack

Our muppet unity is still the bind
where everyone shares the fondness in kind
Oh how did we ever discover such a find
a great place to visit and get to unwind

Ernie and Bert and Oscar and Grover
we always enjoy over and over
But that's just the tip of the iceberg
For there's a ton more muppets that are the .... er.... oh well.

Okay so I hit a dead end
Poetry is just not something I can mend
But even though I don't have a poet's word blend
nevertheless, this entry I send!

The only thing I could think of was Pittsburgh! But how in the world would that have fit? - "But that is just the tip of the iceberg
for there's a ton more muppets that are outside of Pittsburgh"

I don't think so!!!
