There's no denying Simpsons spawned a whole slew of 'edgy prime time' type animated shows. From Bob and God to Stressed Eric, Family Guy and Family Dog to Space Ghost, Bob and Margaret and Dr. Katz.

Just wondering what some of your faves are?

Mine would be:

The Simpsons(early to mid season)
King of the Hill(LOVE this show!)
Futurama
the Critic
The Tick
Family Guy
Doonesbury Special(1977)
Bloom County Opus and bill: A Wish for Wings That Work(1993)
Family Dog(1988 Amazing stories/1993 season)

Mine would have to be, first off, Family Guy. It had so much pop-culture and fast paced off-the-wall jokes that it just kept me watching until its all to early cancellation. It's been my all-time favorite show since.

Futurama, The Critic, and all the shows on adult Swim Comedy are excellent as well.

Classic Warner Bros has to be my fave. Chuck Jones, Tex Avery and Fritz Freleng pioneered the story/concept side of animation we know today.

Animaniacs has to come about second. The first couple of seasons were too clever for the modern audience. How many shows could you say that about? They never dumbed it down. Quick and clever, just how I like my comedy.

Spongebob. Love that spongy guy. I guess this ties with Invader Zim for me. Both very clever on different ends of the spectrum.

The Smurfs was so magical (before the baby invasion at the end of the run). It offered an alternative to the carbon copy programs of the 80s. I wish they'd bring it back.

The Simpsons is still fresh after fourteen years. I really admire how that show has remained true to its origins and retained its wit at the same time.

Family Dog needed a chance. I think we would have seen more of it had it come along a few years later.

South Park. Who knew the show would last more than a season. Humor that's sinfully funny and outrageous. Where do we go from here?

The Tick always made me smile.

I know I'm forgetting something.
