Wait, this soon? Awsome! Can't wait! I am adicting to he song this day aria right now, lol
I've Been A Fan Of This Show Since The Debut Of Season 2, I Am Also A Fan of Dan Vs. (Since Season 1) And The Aquabats Super Show!
duh! course I am! I havent seen alot of the epiosdes but it's a alwesome show! my favourite pony is applejack but my favourite character is spike!
I love your avatar of oswald!
[INCOMING WALL OF TEXT AND MEDIA!]I think my current avatars and signatures say enough. I've been hooked on this show for a little over a year now. xD
I didn't like it very much when it first premiered. (A lot of things were annoying me during the time, which prevented me from enjoying much of anything else.) I watched the first half of the two-part pilot On Demand. I ended up thinking it was ok but not for me, so I didn't even bother to watch the second part. (If I had, I probably would have gotten into the series sooner…)
I left the series alone for awhile, then one day as I was searching through the Hub section of On Demand again, I happened to find there was a new MLP episode called "Applebucking Season" and I thought "Eh, why not?”, hoping it was better than the last episode I tried watching. And...it was! I couldn't believe how much I was enjoying it! And how much I was getting a good laugh out of it too! At this point, I ended up thinking that maybe this series wasn't as 'meh' as I thought it was.
I left it alone again and started to notice how popular it was becoming on DeviantArt. I was amazed that this show was already getting tons of fanart and clubs decided to it. I was also amazed that the guys were just as hype about this version of MLP just as much as the girls! Seeing this, I had planned on someday giving the show yet another chance.
Somewhere in March of that year, I was reading an article on Know Your Meme that I had stumbled upon in a search. And in the trending list...was the show! I couldn't believe it caught on enough to reach meme status! I got curious and checked it out.
The page featured a bunch of YouTube vids with a background character the fans had named Dj Pon-3. Each video had a different song that replaced the original song she was bopping her head to in the episode she was in.
Whatever videos I was looking at from that bunch, soon led me to watching a clip from the show. And that led to another clip of the show. And another, and another, and another until I actually wanted to try catching it on the Hub’s channel…Which leaves me to where I am today. x3
I absolutely adore this show! It’s so much fun. It has a bit of a nostalgic quality and charm to it (A lot of the crew from the show have worked on older shows: Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, The Powerpuff Girls, and Danny Phantom to name a few)
The main characters aren’t just there to look cute, and sell toys, Instead, you're presented with six likeable female characters with their own distinctive personalities. They’re not perfect; they have their faults and breaking points.
Even though it’s mainly aimed at children, it has references and jokes that only older watchers would understand:
I love the art direction; the style or the character design and background layout is appealing and unique:
Whenever fans are asked why they’re so into this show, a common point they make is the quality of the animation. They are defiantly not cheap when it comes to Flash. They keep the movements fluid:
(This clip is part of an episode where a creature know as Discord causes Twilight's friends to act the opposite of their personalities. And yes, that is John De Lancie's voice for those who were wondering.)
The stories are well-written, the humor is clever and the songs… are BEAUTIFULLY composed!
Another thing I love about FiM is how it inspires it's fans to do some pretty neat things:
Voice acting and Animating: (Both the voice work and animation were done by the fans.)(Only the animation is fanmade. The voices are clips from the show.)
(This song is a Pogo inspired piece; the artist isn't trying to make her say anything meaningful, they were just using samples to make up a melody.)

Not trying to say that MLP has the best fandom ever (Every fandom has it’s “dom”. There’s always going to be annoying aspects about them, like spamming the Hub’s Facebook and Youtube pages posting “NEEDZ MOAR PONEHZ!” comments. That bugs the MESS outta me...I’m pretty sure they know the video or picture it’s not pony-related guys, that’s not the only show on the channel… -_-) but it’s one of the most interesting fandom I’ve ever been a part of. ^^ TL;DR: It's a good show. Give it a try if you're curious...Or not. (I had no idea that I'd have to break my reply into five separate ones...I hope this doesn't count as spam. I wasn't intending to do that at all. ._.)
What do you mean? Does it come close to being a brony?
I randomly found it one day in the middle of the summer last year...I thought it was weird...came back to it later and relised it was pretty...well....SUPER MEGA AWESOMLY EXTREMELY GOOD! ho'kay?
I am a proud Pegasister! (that is the female equivelant to a Brony)
I watch the show whenever I can, I DVR'd most of the episodes to catch them all. I have a Fluttershy figure, a Great and Powerful Trixie plush a friend made me and I used to have a Rainbow Dash figure (she got ruined :'( ) and I'm trying to get my hands on a Pinkie Pie figure, but, I like the bigger figures (the Fashion Style ponies) as opposed to the smaller ones. I also have a Celestia toy that I re-painted and re-winged, but her wings are a bit of a disaster.
The driving force behind MLP (i.e. the one taking all the credit) did work on PPG... that's how she met and married Craig McCracken, right? Wrote a couple episodes, I think.
But yeah... sort of the same thing? Show that seems girly and or childish, but anyone can enjoy it?
I'd definitely give this show a chance. I'm sure I can find stuff on Youtube. Saw a few clips and it seems solid. I'd just be afraid of being obsessed. I try VERY hard not to be obsessed after what I call the "ALF incident."
acrually girls can call themselfs bronies...I call myself both!
I wasn't sure about that, well either way, I love MLP
It's the other way around for me: I prefer the standard brushables as opposed to the Fashion Styles. x3 They're not too big and not too small. They're juuuuuust right. I don't like the wings they gave the pegasi molds...they're bigger than they're supposed to be and they just don't look right...sticking out straight like that with all those feathers... :I
I have 18 brushables so far: The Mane 6, 6 HasbrOC's, Cheerilee, Celestia, the CMC an extra Twi I'm turning into Future!Twilight and an extra Cheer I'm turning into 80's!Cheerilee. I Also have two blind bags, two Spikes, An RD shirt, and an RD sticker from Hot Topic that I still haven't used yet. xD
I've been thinking of doing some sort of project with them, like a photo comic series or a stop-motion. Hopefully I'll get to doing both! I still need a tripod and a dollhouse... >_>
Aww, that was nice of your friend. ^^ What happend to Dashie? ):
I'm almost done painting mine. I wasn't going to at first since it seemed like Hasbro might come out with a white brushable as a part of there Toys'R'US collectibles. They already made her talking toy white for that line and her blind bag:
But had already bought some new white paint and I wanted to paint something. So, I decided to do it anyway. Even if they do end up releasing her brushable in white I'd probably still buy her. I can't WAIT for the exclusives line!
Oh. Then yes, yes it does. C:
I can understand, there's so much going on with this show and it's fandom that some people get completely caught up in it. I've seen some people completely ponyfy their rooms or grab any merch out there with a pony on it. There's nothing wrong with really liking a show or collecting some of the merch that comes with it, (I'd be a huge hypocrite.) but it shouldn't be to the point that it becomes overkill. I don't find myself as obsessed since I still love many other things. FiM is such an intresting and fresh alternative to what's out today, that it's so much fun to keep up with.
A lot of the other shows I like are cancelled or don't meet up to par like they used to. *coughspongebobcough*
Hmm...I've always dismissed this show as something that would never entertain me, but now you guys are giving me second thoughts about it. I just might have to watch it when I see it on sometime...
I think I'm going to convince my mom to take me to tescos ( british target only less cool) to see If I can buy any ponies...because I want some ponies! I need to change my avatar or something because now I always sound like lsp when I type stuff...
I cannot be a superfan of anything because my varied tastes betray my ability to focus on one singular property. EVEN with Muppets. Then there's the whole issue of being able to afford something. I have quite an impressive toy collection I constantly add to... very little of it is complete, missing bits and pieces here and there. There are a few completed Fast Food toy promotions in my collection (rare, though), and unless a toyline is ridiculously small and extremely affordable, I never quite manage to get a complete set of anything.
Though there are constants. TMNT, Muppets, Kinnikuman. I have at least one of them on every shelf. I noticed an uptick in Dragonball and Batman stuff as well.
Want to know how to completely destroy a good cartoon with a horrible movie idea? Well, I was talking to someone about Space Jam today and, well, I came up with this...
And of course the soundtrack would have to include a lot of generic pop and rap music, ending with a track of Twilight Sparkle rapping. I should go to Hasbro with this, if they'll make Battleship, they'll make this!
