I just thought I would post this here, but supposedly there is a new Muppet Show getting ready to tape very soon. Here is the link to the short blurb about it. Scroll down a bit to read it....

Here are some more "blurbs" on the subject:

The idea for a new Muppet television show is in very early stages of planning and developing inside the Muppet Holding Company. This does not mean a new show will get made; but they are working on coming up with something that, hopefully, will get picked up by a network for production. Don't expect to see a new show on TV until at around 2007 at the earliest.

I think if the Muppets make a new show, they shouldn't try to make it "edgier" for the "youth of today." It should be exactly like the Muppet Show: good guests, clean humor, great sketches and a whole bunch of music. If it goes on and any Muppet raps in the first episode, I'll turn it off and never watch it again.

Then again, depending on the Muppet, that could be pretty funny. Can you imagine S to the M (Sam the Eagle) attempting to rap?

(deadpan, reading from a piece of paper) "Hello homies, i am sam. come here and tell you bout da rapper jam. Kermit! What is this?'
"Well Sam, it's a piece of material designed to make you more appealing to today's audience."
"Yes, but they are all weirdoes! (With gusto) Oh say can you see..."

    now that would be HYSTERICAL!!

I would totally watch ANY muppet show, no matter how bad it was. Well, no, that's not entirely true. I'm sure I would draw the line somewhere. But for the most part, I would watch, and watch, and if it was terrible I would sit and say, "look how rotten this is! :grouchy: :boo: " and if it wasn't, I'd say, "LOOKIE LOOKIE LOOKIE ITS THE MUPPETS ITS THE MUPPETS!!!!!!!!!!! MUPPETSMUPPETSMUPPETSMUPPETSMUPPETSMUPPETSMUPPETSMUPPETS!!!"
so basically what I'm saying is that I think this is totaly awesome and I hope it works out!

    New Muppet show.

Yes, but plans fell through. Where do you think it should be set? A theatre? A TV studio? A house? What do you think?

    The Muppet Theater. Case closed.

I say, and always have said, have it a Sit-Com set in the Muppet Boarding House, when they are trying to re-start the show. So, some days it's the Muppet show, some days it's at the bording house.

    FISH'N'WOLFE Well-Known Member

Yeah, that's the planned FOX Muppet Show that never came to be from awhile back that you're thinking of.

Thats an awsome idea. Muppet Theater and Muppet's Boarding House. I love the idea. I think there should other parts like where some of the Muppets are trying to get some place while others are trying there best to do the show. Like the band goes out to a new place to do there new song but everyone of the band members have other things that they need to do that episode. So like Floyd, Janice and Animal go out on there date, Zoot has to have his sax poished so then Dr. Teeth then has to do aduision for new band members for that episode. It doesn't go as plan and all the band comes back saying that everything goes haywire and they go ahead and play the ending number and Kermits glad to see the Band back together again. Its seemed alot of funnier or cooler then when I thought it.

    OK. First of all...

    Secondly, woooooooooooooo!!

    And indeed, thirdly: Wooooooooooooo!!!

Now, as for my fourth point. Is this new show a new series of TMS, or a new show starring the muppets? Or do we not know?

    And fifthly, wooooooo!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I don't care about news, opinions or whatever- a Muppet reality show would mean that Kermit, Gonzo, Floyd, Scooter and Bunsen had finally- gasp- SOLD OUT!

The more I think about it, the more I like Beau's "Boarding House" idea.

Beauregard, the boarding house idea is great. There are so many possible storylines that could tem from the oarding hose and the theatre together. I like the Muppets in thier boarding house. It is great to see them in thier "natural envronment." One of the perks of MFS.

You could have storylines very much like the ones in our fan-fcs, with bigger storys than were on the Muppet Show. The Muppet Show part of the story can provide the usual skits/sketches etc, but then the house/backstage could be ongoing storys from one week to the next, with continued romances, troubles, etc.

So, Janice (for example) may break up with Floyd at the end of one episode providing a cliff hanger to the next episode where they doin't get on and there in another story line, then in the third episode they get back together...Etc

    Like any regular series/soap/etc
