You want to know the real reason why I'm not too fond of South Park? I started off on a VERY disturbing episode. My first exposure to the series was none other than Woodland Critter Christmas. For those who aren't familiar with this episode, allow me to explain before you start laughing at the fact that I got really disturbed at something with just a cute little title. The episode is an obvious parody of old Disney cartoons about a bunch of cute woodland animals celebrating Christmas together. Things REALLY get disturbing however when it is revealed that the animals are actually a Satanic cult awaiting the birth of the Anti-Christ. The episode's problem is resolved by our main protagonist giving the skunk who was supposedly pregnant with the Anti-Christ a surprisingly graphic abortion. There was a small part of the episode I found really funny though and that was when they said the Chickadee character's name was Chickadee-y, that name had me rolling on the floor laughing. But overall I was disgusted, shocked, and all around uncomfortable after that episode had ended. It was so incredibly gross and graphic that it makes the grossest episode of Ren and Stimpy look like a scene from Little House on the Prairie in comparison. I have seen a few South Park clips since that have made me laugh on YouTube so while I don't hate the show by any means, I certainly didn't get a good impression of it with that freaking thing being my first introduction to the series as a whole.

-I would also like to add another fairly disturbing cartoon bit I saw recently. It was on Comedy Central's obscure yet hilarious sendup of reality shows Drawn Together. There was a scene that showed cute little Scrappy-Doo getting his internal organs ripped out by an evil doctor while he lied there in shock watching his own organs get harvested. I mean, I love Drawn Together and all, but was that bit REALLY necessary.

Boku No Pico.

If you're into anime, do NOT watch this one. It consists of pedophillia and child pornography.

That's not just inappropriate, that sounds borderline illegal. I am shocked that such a thing even exists.

I mean, at the time the short ova's were made (there were only three), this stuff was acceptable in Japan.

Wow........I am speechless. I can't believe that any country considers ANYTHING involving sex and children (animated or otherwise) even remotely acceptable. That is so sickening to think about. We have tons of adult cartoons here in America but at least our shows are considered adult because of cussing, sophomoric sex and toilet humor, comedic gore, and politically incorrect stereotype characters as opposed to freaking child pornography of all things!

Yeah. Kids shows in Japan are allowed to have mild swearing, alcohol and smoking references, and more adult jokes, while kids shows in America can't get away with that stuff most of the time.

Most anime/cartoons in Japan aren't even really kid friendly to begin with.

The only exception I can really think of is probably Hamtaro.

Yep. Even (the original Japanese dub of) Pokemon has some adult references in it. Like that one episode where James got those fake breasts and was crossdressing in a bathing suit.

I think the most adult Hamtaro got in the Japanese dub was when Stan called Boss a pedophile, and when the hamsters talked about dating and stuff (if you count that). Other than that, I can't really think of any innapro-pro stuff in that show. It's probably one of the most kid-friendly anime/manga series out there besides Anpanman and a few others.

There are certain animes I remember watching as a kid that I could have easily had nightmares had I seen them uncut at the time (Dragonball, Yu Yu Hakusho, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, One Piece, etc).
