I say we do it...Borples is certainly welcome to mail it out but any one of us could print it and format it and mail it. Again though we need to decide who will handle the mail becuase this thing will need a return address.

Well, I'm glad the letter meets with approval! ... I think. Still not sure about it, myself. Anybody hear from Bandit this week? I'd like to get her take on it, because I have a feeling that she might have other ideas. Possibly better ones.

Somebody else should probably print the letter. I'd do it, but my printer is lousy. Wouldn't look very professional with white streaks running through the text. That's one thing we do need to be concerned with at this point. Professionalism. The letter needs to be formatted properly, for instance. I don't even know the correct format for a business letter anymore. Shouldn't be too hard to look up, though.

I'll message Bandit and tell her to look at it, she was on tonight. And I would print it and mail it but I dont have a printer. :/

Agreed. We don't want to sound like a bunch of crazy Muppet fans who met on the internet and thought it would be good idea to put on a Jim Henson convention....... You know what scratch that last comment....yeah proffesionalism is what we need :)

If no one else wants to do the mailing/recieving mail thing I will do it. The key there is if no one else wants to though. As a teacher I certainly would know how to format a letter. (or have access to books that would show me how :) )The problem is I will be out of town the last week of June and the first week of July and I think it would be better if the letter was responded in that time frame (or any other) that someone is available to get it up online so we can react ASAP. That being said if no one else wants to handle this I will. Other than those two weeks I'm usually around. But again if someone else wants that job that would probably be better. Either way we need to get this ball rolling and soon.

Like I said I would gladly do it if I had a printer...:(

Hiya guys! Sorry I'm so late in the game here. I did get Pinky's message but couldn't actually get on here till today. It's CRAZY with the last two weeks of school and the packing since we have to gut the place for remodeling...But anyway...who cares?! Let's talk con.

Borples! I KNEW you'd do a great job! I think that letter looks fantastic. I especially like that you really drove home the issue that Muppets are becoming more relevant in the media again. I also like that you threw in some numbers (And will throw in some more numbers) to support this. People like facts they can sink their teeth into. But most importantly, I felt like your approach was friendly and open and honest. You stress this is a work in progress and want their input. Naw! I approve.

I kinda dropped the ball on my letter writing. I have scribbled some ideas on Sunday and so I had this sort of vague outline but you really covered everything I was going to say anyway so I say send IT! SEND IT!

Just make sure it's signed HensonCon Planning TEAM! Not Committee. Sorry Danny! I just think Committee sounds arrogant. Team has better spirit. ^_^

But again, great job Borples and thanks for taking the time to represent us all that way. You owned it!

Also, thanks for waiting for me. You didn't have to do that but I appreciate the considerations. You guys are some kind of awesome. ^_-

Okay well I think that's all the assurance we need! Shall we get it mailed off? :)

Well you know what they say "it takes a village" or in this case a bunch of muppet fans. Lol!
  11. bandit Well-Known Member

Darn it. Where's Blunderbrain when I want to make a 'Village Idiot' joke!? Rats.

*lol* No, I know I totally failed when it came to drafting a pitch letter but honestly...I couldn't have done a better job than Borples. I am really pleased with that one. I just knew she could do it. ^_- V
  12. Pinkflower7783 Well-Known Member

Borples really deserves major props. Like I said I couldn't have wrote the letter better myself. And believe me I tried too! But it just wasn't sounding professional enough. It was like I was writing a friend. Lol!
  13. bandit Well-Known Member

Yeah! Well, I had my notes with all the points I wanted to make. Usually, writing comes more easily to me. It flows. But I think that it was meant to be a formal letter had me nitpicking a little and so I had a line here and then another there and I didn't quite like how it sounded. The idea was good but the phrasing was annoying me.
Basically, Borples took what I was trying to say and just said it. o.o So, there's no point in even finishing my letter.
Besides, I like her letter. Forget my letter! Go for the gold, I say. ^_^
  14. Pinkflower7783 Well-Known Member

Haha now you know what I go through with my videos. When it comes to knit picking. Hahahaha!

Seriously though she did a bang up job though!
  15. DannyRWW Well-Known Member

I agree with the team Idea...commitee can be a tad pretensious at this point for a letter. If the letter is ready to be sent then I am willing to do it if no one else wants to. Just let me know otherwise if someone else wants to that would be great too. Either way we need to get this out there.

So anyone want to host a Hensoncon website? I think it might be something we want to do soon if for no other reason to have a place where people can come and ive suggestions and such. There are lots of places we can get some free basic websites to start off with at least. Just a thought as to where to o from here. I think once this letter gets off and responded to it will help us find a clearer direction though.

Has anyone noticed that we are all early birds..... I suppose it depends on your timezone

Like I said if I had a printer I would totally do it. As for a website I have no idea how to go about doing that. Ugh I feel so useless...I'm really not making up excuses. :( If there's anything that needs decorating or what not like I said I'm really good with art but don't know how much that would help now. :/
  19. bandit Well-Known Member

You're a good sport, Danny! I like you. Heck, I like all of you!
I can do it. I can print a few of these suckes from work and send them to their respective locations. Once Borples plugs in that number and gives a go ahead, I'll do it.

As for website...ehhhh ill ask around. Its a good idea!

Ha ha! I -have- noticed! Well, I've always been an early riser but this is especially true now that I work in a school. Gotta be there before the kiddos. Danny, you HAVE kids...so that might explain it....and Pinky.....I have no idea about that girl. She's got alot of cleaning to do. That must be it. Sje's getting a jump on it. Hah. Naw, whatever the reason, I'm grateful. Glad for the company!
