I'm just indifferent to the black bars. I just don't pay attention to them.

Plus, if the bars were white, they would be considered offensive and YouTube would be in trouble.

Yes, and it's very annoying. Why does Google feel the need to make so many unnecessary changes?

Not a YouTube problem, but a new Facebook problem: I'm noticing about roughly 90% of the time now, I don't receive a notification when people reply to a comment I've posted, and usually the only time I do still receive such notifications is if those who replied are my friends, or from groups I belong to.
