I have been listening to the Willie Nelson birthday concert album and Ray Charles performance of A Song for You all afternoon. If you have not heard it, I strongly suggest that you go out and buy the CD. Ray Charles performance alone is worth the price (Get kinda emotional each time I hear it ... such a wonderful voice), but there are a lot of other great artists on there.

Tonight, I'm having the urge to play his "Song for You" over and over. Such a great voice ... strangely beautiful is the best way to describe it ... "nobody," and I mean nobody, can every replace him.

Ray Charles, to me, is held very deeply in my heart. As many of you know already, I am disabled myself, and in '97 had lost my favorite spercial ed teacher to MS. Ray's voice, combined with the fact that he is blind yet such an awesome piano player and jazz/blues singer, makes it that much more emotional -- yet very enjoyable -- to listen to one of his ballads. The man didn't age well at all, but God could he perform!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm on my fifth straight rendition of Song for You
