I think the problem is stuff like this is said sarcastically, as a joke. Then some people take it seriously and get convinced it really is racist. It's like the flat earther movement. Originally it was so stupid that it was obviously a joke. Then some idiots saw it and thought it was real. Now it's an actual movement and even the trolls have forgotten they were trolls.
