Chapter 7 here (just making up for lost time, people )!

Chapter 7: Just like in the Comic Books...

Later that evening, Ashley had left the Muppet boarding house to go to the comic book store. With her new comic books in the basket of her bicycle, she began to pedal home, whistling “The Song that Gets on Everybody’s Nerves.”

Ashley’s whistling died down as she began to get the feeling that she was being followed. She turned to look behind her, and saw a large white van, with three large men in it parallel-parked in front of a diner. Ashley shrugged and continued to pedal down the street.

As the tiny girl pedaled, she looked into the sky. It was an orangey purple from the setting sun. I’d better hurry, she thought. Mom hates when I’m late on burrito night.

Ashley’s train of thought was interrupted as she felt her handlebars roughly grabbed. Ashley shrieked, and looked up to see a large, hairy man with tattoos covering his arms grasping the handlebars of her bike.

“Going somewhere, munchkin?” he grunted.

Ashley swallowed hard. “Look man, I-I don’t have anything you want,” she sputtered. She grabbed the comics out of her basket. “I-I spent all my money on these! I swear!”

Suddenly, Ashley heard a very familiar voice behind her. “So we meet again, princess.”

No, it can’t be, Ashley thought. She turned around, and her worst fears were confirmed. A goat, a lobster, and a blob, accompanied by two other large men stood behind her.

“W-What do you want?” Ashley demanded, trying to sound brave, though her voice quaked.

“Your little friends took away our boss’ future,” Mad Monty replied. “We’re going to return the favor.”

Ashley rolled her eyes. “In English, not villain-cliché-language, please.”
Polly stepped forward and grabbed Ashley by the front of her t-shirt. “We’re going to use you as bait to lure the Muppets into our trap,” he snapped. “That clear enough for you?”
Ashley plowed her fist into his face. “Fat chance!” She ran to pick up her bike, but was grabbed from behind by Butch. “Let me go!”

Polly rubbed his mouth. “Throw her in the back!” he ordered. “And tie her up!”

Sudden Death opened the back door, and after Butch tossed Ashley in, the two of them tied her wrists and ankles together.

“You can’t do this!” Ashley continued to shriek. “The Muppets are going to bury you under the jail!”

Polly covered his nonexistent ears. “Would you shut her up!”
Slash pulled a dirty bandana out of his pocket and tied it over Ashley’s mouth, not that this stopped her from emitting muffled screams, on which the burly men quickly slammed the back doors.

“What now, Polly?” Clueless asked

“Now we take the girl to the boss, and tell the Muppets we’ve got her,” Polly explained, as the six villains loaded up into the van. “Then they come to rescue her, we use the laser to get rid of their powers, and then we destroy them!”

Clueless looked confused. “Then what?’

Polly narrowed his eyes at his coworker. “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” he said. “Drive, Butch!”

The van pulled away from the scene of the kidnapping, leaving Ashley’s bicycle and comic books behind.

Meanwhile, back at the abandoned warehouse, Walters sat and watched Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones jump rope, as he waited for his other minions to return.

Just then, Susie stormed in.

Walters stood up. “Ah, Susie, my dear,” he said to the little girl. “Tonight is the night we destroy those....”

“I’m not helping you anymore,” Susie flatly told him. “You lied to me!”

Walters smiled. “I don’t know what you mean...”
Susie slammed the newspaper down in front of him. “Don’t give me that!” she snapped. “I met the Muppets today. They aren’t monsters; they sing and dance and make people happy! And I found out that you’re just using me to get revenge on them for putting you in jail!”

Walters grinned evilly. “Dear child, you figured all of this out on your own?” he chortled. “Bravo! Fortunately, now that you’ve finished the laser, you’re of no further use to us.” He checked his watch. “Our Muppet bait should be arriving at any moment now. Smith, Jones!”

The two insane men stopped jumping. “Yes, sir?”
“Escort Miss Walsh to the door.”

The two men grabbed Susie and dragged her toward the door.
“You won’t get away with this!” the little girl yelled to the villain.
Walters laughed. “Why won’t I? Who will believe you?”

After Drs. Smith and Jones pushed the little girl out the door, Susie’s mind raced.

“I have to tell the Muppets their lives are in danger,” she said to herself. Just then, a white van pulled up to the warehouse. Darting behind a wall to hide, Susie looked on as Walters’ nonhuman minions, as well as the three large men, got out of the van. One of the men opened the back door of the van and threw what appeared to be a bound and gagged person over his shoulder. Looking closer, Susie could see the identity of the person very clearly.

“Ashley!” she whispered. She thought quickly. “I get it; they’re going to use her as bait to lure the Muppets to the laser, so that they can get zapped, and then, they’ll get killed! Oh, no!” Susie ran to get her bicycle, and rode to go warn the Muppets.

Meanwhile, Walters’ minions entered the warehouse with Ashley in tow.

“We got her, boss!” Polly said proudly.

Slash carried Ashley over to a chair and sat her down in it. Ashley let out several muffled screams.

“Well done, boys,” Walters told them, walking over to Ashley. He roughly removed the gag from her mouth.

Ashley scowled. “What are you clods going to do with the Muppets?!” she demanded, struggling to free her wrists from their binds.

“We might as well tell you, since you have a starring role,” Walters chortled. “We have a device that will drain those super pests of their powers, making them easy to destroy. Of course, we can’t bring it to them, so we must use you to lure them to it!”

“You sick, twisted....” Ashley began, still struggling.
Walters pulled the gag back over her mouth.

“So boss, how are we going to let the Muppets know we’ve got her?” Monty inquired.

“We won’t,” Walters said. “...but she will.” He grabbed a telephone off of a desk and shoved it at Ashley, once again removing her gag. “Call them,” he barked. “Tell them where you are, and not to call the police. Tell them to come rescue you.”

“And if I refuse?” Ashley demanded.

Butch lifted the chair she was in clear off of the ground, as Ashley screamed bloody murder.

Walters smiled. “Then you’ll be a lovely floor decoration.”

Polly squirmed. “Again, boss, not a good image.”

Ashley screamed more. “Okay, I’ll do it, put me down!”
Walters laughed. “I knew you’d see it my way,” he said, as Ashley was lowered and she reluctantly dialed the Muppets’ number. Then he frowned. “All this evil scheming makes me hungry.” He turned to Clueless. “Mr. Morgan, go into town and get me a large pizza.”

Clueless took out a notepad to jot down his boss’ order. “Pepperoni?”

“Yes,” Walters affirmed. “Olives, peppers, hold the onions, and extra garlic.”

“Okay, boss, but I probably should order it first, and the hostage is using the only phone.”

Walters rolled his eyes. “So wait until she’s finished!”

“Okay,” Clueless replied. He sat behind Ashley, as though waiting in line.
Walters rubbed his temples. “It’s so hard to find good help these days.”

Chapter 8 is on the way!

I really like your stories! They're not complex or compelling, but they are just a ton of fun to read. They're very goofy, you don't seem to take them too seriously and you seem to keep it simple but to the Muppet spirit! I like how you brought back Polly, Clueless and Monty and Ramona and Ashley are very likable, mainly because of their friendship and opposite personalities! I look forward to more chapters! ^^

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...Chapter 8!

Chapter 8: it’s a Trap!

Meanwhile, the Muppets were enjoying an unusually quiet evening at home, when the telephone started to ring.

Dr. Teeth, who was sitting right next to it, picked up the receiver. “Talk to me,” he said.

“Dr. Teeth, you’ve got to help me!” Ashley’s voice stammered through the other end.

Dr. Teeth stood up, surprised to hear her in such a panic. “Little buddy, what’s wrong? Are you hurt?”

“I’ve been kidnapped by Walters and his men, and they threatened to kill me!” Ashley went on.

“Where are you?”
“They brought me to an abandoned warehouse outside of town! He said he wants you all to come here, and not to call the police. But it’s....” Ashley’s voice was cut off, and a blood-curdling (assuming Muppets have blood) new one came on.

“Yes, we have your little friend,” the voice of Donald F. Walters chortled over the phone. “And if you ever want to see her again, you’ll bring your little friends to the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town to face me. And don’t get any ideas about calling the authorities, or she dies.” Walters laughed evilly, then hung up.

As Dr. Teeth slowly put the receiver back on the hook, Kermit asked, “What was all that?”
Dr. Teeth’s eyes widened. “It’s Ashley,” he replied. “Walters got her.”
“What?!” the frog exclaimed. “Everyone, come quick!”
Within a few minutes, the living room was filled with most of the boarding house’s residents (and Ramona, who had stayed over for dinner).
“What’s wrong?” Ramona asked. “Is everything okay?”
Dr. Teeth shook his head. “Walters has Ashley,” he explained, as gasps filled the room. “He just called and wants us to come to some warehouse on the outskirts of town.”
“Oh, no!” Ramona exclaimed.
“We’ve got to help her!” Scooter added.
Pepe scratched his head. “Why?”
"Because she's my friend!" Ramona exclaimed.
"Oh, then I think we should help her too, okay," Pepe said.
Just then, Susie burst through the door and ran into the living room. “Muppets!” she exclaimed.
“Susie!” Robin said happily, as he hopped over and hugged her.
“What do you mean by bursting into our house so late at night?” Piggy demanded.
“Susie, I don’t mean to sound rude, but could you come back another time?” Kermit asked the little girl. “We have a little emergency.”
“We have a friend in danger,” Gonzo explained. “She was captured by this.....”
“That’s why I’m here!” Susie exclaimed. “You guys can’t go rescue her!”
“Why not?” Robin asked.
“Because you’re playing right into his hands!”
“Young lady, this is serious,” Sam told her. “As much as I.....ugh, loathe to admit it, we abandon Ashley.”
“She’s our friend!” Bean Bunny added.
“She’s the bait!” Susie blurted out. “Walters isn’t after her; he’s after you guys!”
“Whoa, whoa, time out,” Clifford interrupted. “How do you know who’s got Ashley?’
“Yeah, and how do you even know he’s after us?” Rizzo added.
“For that matter, how do you know about Walters at all?” Johnny finished.
Susie sighed. “It’s a long story,” she began. “See, I never knew who you guys were. My parents never let me watch TV, or movies, or do anything that they felt was taking me away from academics...”
Piggy tapped her fingers impatiently. “Sweetie, that’s very unfortunate, but how does that explain how you know all this, or how to help Ashley?”
Susie held up her hand. “I’m getting to it,” she said. “Anyway, I met this.....um, blobby guy, who told me that he needed me to help him build a laser to rid you all of your powers so he could destroy you guys.” She started to sniff sadly. “And I did.”
“You what?” everyone else in the room shouted in unison.
Susie buried her face in her hands. “I’m so sorry.”
“Susie, why?” Robin asked, sounding just as sad as Susie was.
Sal balled his hands into fists. “You want I should hit her, Johnny?” he asked.
“Calm down, Sal,” Johnny replied.
Fozzie put his hand on the little girl’s shoulder. “Now guys, I’m sure if Susie did this without knowing who we are, she must have had a good reason,” he told his friends.
Susie wiped her eyes. “I’m sorry, but the blobby guy told me that you were horrible monsters who ate little kids, and that’s why he wanted the laser. But then I met you guys and found out about Walters in a newspaper, and now that I know the truth, I want to help.”
The Muppets and Ramona exchanged glances; this entire situation was a lot to take in.
Kermit, after a few moments of silence, spoke up. “Okay, Susie, what do you have in mind?” He offered the little girl a tissue.
Susie blew her nose. “We have to break into the warehouse, save your friend, diffuse the laser, and put those crooks back in jail,” she said.
Rizzo shook his head. “Is that all?” he said sarcastically, as Gonzo nudged him.
“I know it’s a lot,” Susie said. “So I’ll need all you guys’ help.”
Floyd shook his head. “I don’t know, kid,” he said.
“Yeah, it could be dangerous,” Fozzie added. “Especially if he can get rid of our powers.”
Susie managed a small smile beneath her teary eyes. “That’s the good part!” she told them. “I never showed Mr. Walters or any of his men how to fire my laser! They won’t be able to use it!”
The Muppets and Ramona exchanged glances once again.
“Okay, Susie,” Kermit said. “Let’s go make our plan!”
Everyone cheered as they ran down to the basement laboratory.

I liked this chapter, but if I had to nitpick, I'd say try spacing out the sentences and paragraphs better. Other than that, good job.

Awww! That's okay! Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. When I started writing long ago, my grammar was so bad that I felt like a fool and....(laughs softly) not ver smart at times. :coy:
