I can usually trust spill.com's attitude toward movies, and they seem pretty excited, including most (if not all) commenters on their article about it.

Spoilers: Don't read until you see the trailer.

I laughed out loud at this. I love how it started like a trailer for a love film devoid of Muppets and, after mentioning Jason and Amy, they out of the blue say Kermit and Miss Piggy. I love how the narrator and Jason are surprised about the Muppets (Jason especially, since he wrote it. Muppets must've came up at some point. :))

Awesome trailer and I cannot wait for it.

That's exactly what I thought when I watched it - I think all the scenes from when the Muppets show up on are probably part of the movie but that the Jason/Amy storyline was just to throw us off at first.

I have seriously watched this thing like 20 times, I can't get enough of it!

I wonder if there'll still be some sort of storyline involving them. I wouldn't be surprised if Mary isn't as big a Muppet fan as Gary, or if his Muppet fandom does get in the way of their relationship. But you never know.

At first I thought that odd pig was Howard Pudman.

red! you & I are in the same boat! hehe..my gf keeps asking me "how many times now stevie? haha" :D I keep saying I'll be to :excited: to eat on thanksgiving now, so after MACYS ends on TV i said we're campping out by the theater and skipping dinner (jk tho!) :)

Based on the draft I read, I'd guess that most of the Gary/Mary scenes in the trailer wound up in the finished version. Maybe they're not much more extensive than what we're seeing, though.

Wouldn't it be ironic if they decided before filming to not include those in the movie, but film them anyway for the teaser trailer?

I think somebody mentioned seeing Clifford in the trailer. But I keep looking and don't see him anywhere (in that office scene I thought I briefly saw him between Dr. Teeth and Beaker, but maybe it's because I'm trying to sormee him).

In that shot of the Muppets all singing, we can see The Electric Mayhem in the back. Floyd doesn't appear in the shot... I guess he's blocked by other characters. I hope Lips is with the band in that shot as well, though I noticed a platform by Animal's drums with nobody on top (Zoot was on the platform on the other side).

If you look at the screen cap Toughpigs has on their website you cam just see Floyd's mustache and arm just behind Piggy.

It is odd to me that neither Gonzo or Rowlf are in that shot however.

Well 527,866 is the number of hits the video has had so far and it has only been posted for about 24 hours not bad!

At 1:20. Is this the first time that Gonzo moves only one eye?

I'm pretty sure "Letters to Santa" was the first time.

    Just read this on twitter...

The Muppets" Release Schedule North America Nov 23 France on Dec 28, Australia on Jan 1, 2012, Germany on Jan 19, 2012, UK on Feb 17, 2012

Why are we last to get the film in the UK?

Can only hope that something BIG is planned to launch it here so it has to be seperate than other countries?

    You lucky dog. :sympathy:

I hope they mass market that poster sometime in the future. I'd love to have one.

    I totally loved LOVED it.

That's the way a teaser suppose to be, at first I really did think the link took me to the wrong video, til I remember "oh wait, Amy Adams and Jason Segal are in the movie, :)".

    Totally awesome.

I can't stop watching it! It's so exciting! When I saw :) , I started screaming with joy! And seeing the whole gang back (and even some from older Muppet movies and Muppet Show episodes) just put a big smile on my face.

I am soooooo excited for this movie! I'm going with a bunch of my Muppet-crazed friends to see it the day it comes out! The only downfall about the preview is that the Muppets were shown close to the end of it. But, hey! That's better than nothing at all!

That's not a "downfall" at all in my opinion. It's gets people surpise, which is the point of a teaser trailer. It's aweseome. The Simpsons movie did that with there teaser trailer made it look like a new Superman movie and Scooby Doo did that to make it look like a new Batman movie. It's part of the fun.

The keyword is "treaser" with this trailer, when the other trailers come out, it probably will focus more on the Muppets.
  19. heralde Well-Known Member

OK I'll admit, when Kermit appeared on the screen, I laughed out loud, lol. I know I've been skeptical, but this teaser did manage to make the project look promising. :)

Disney has taken that to a WHOLE new level. I've seen those 2 trailers mentioned, and YES... they were the old bait and switch with a BETTER switch (well... Scooby vs Batman is a hard call... ) The joke stemming from the fact Jason has done a lot of Bromantic comedies lately (the only one who has a mastery of the genre, making the old RomComs better than ANYTHING else out there)...

To also have a fake poster and a fake movie site... he he he! This is genius. I bet he had something to do with this all along.
