I had to nag a copy of Muppets and Men from a seller who had bought it from an obscure library in Daytona. But if anyone's interested in a copy, there's some on Amazon. Kinda pricy, though.

Yeah, they've got a few copies posted on Alibris. (British accent) Bloomin' expensive, they are.

Geez....I know a good deal.....down here in SC.....but......I ain't gonna say!! I just WISH I had enough money to get it.

BTW: It's only $76.00 during the sale!! $95 normally!

I was lucky enough to borrow Of Muppets in Men yesterday from my internship at The Museum of TV and Radio. I'd thought I'd never get the chance to read it!

It's great that the "indefatigable" Richard is featured so often (as the caption on page 33 describes him). I thought it was touching how he stuck around to entertain the kids, he clearly got so much enjoyment out of that. ;)

It's weird, though, cause in the televised version, they don't even mention how he entertained the kids. They just show him doing a Scooter voice and a Beaker voice. Then for the next two minutes they have an old scene with Scooter. However, I'm not complaining, and the video version is definitely a must-see.

((I had to look up indefatigable. :o ))

(throws open much-tattered Webster's) Indefatigable: Adjective. Untiring or unwavering. (throws Webster's aside) Like I've said before somewhere, the man must have been a real laugh riot. Had I been there, I'd have been laughing so hard I'd have tears running down my face.

But I'd like to know what kind of response he'd get from the parents. Can you imagine, a parent at the doors to the studio saying to the kids, "All right, I want you to be on your very best behavior for the nice Muppet people, because they're very hard at work..." and then the doors fly open and then there's the indefatigable Mr. H. doing his level best to goof off...

Simply put, Richard was (is) just like the favorite young uncle who makes the kids laugh (and the grandparents gasp with horror) at every family reunion.

Ga, Muppetnewsgirl, you wanna make /everyone/ cry? *Sob* *Sniff* I'm not crying *Sobs louder*

    in·de·fat·i·ga·ble adj
never showing any sign of getting tired or of relaxing an effort

    In·de·fat·i·ga·ble (ĭn'dĭ-făt'ĭ-gə-bəl) adj.
Incapable or seemingly incapable of being fatigued; tireless.

    Definitions of indefatigable from Rhymezone:
adjective: showing sustained enthusiastic action with unflagging vitality

Take that Muppet book writer who thought I wouldn't know the word, and shove it, cause the Borkmeister has it down.

(hands MBM a box of tissues) Here ya go. (crash somewhere off in the distance) I've got to stop pitching my dictionaries toward nearby windows.

Like I said: Richard Hunt = favorite young uncle who makes the kids laugh and gives the grandparents the horrors at family reunions.

Oh, so, now you're gonna say it twice are you?

*Sobs into tissue and blows nose loudly* ....Allergies ...erm...

(caught off-guard) Well...I...I just thought it merited repeating, that's all.

Oh, repeat it again, I /dare/ you. *Holds tissues behind back just in case*

Oh, also, I'm getting the Jim Henson Funeral DVD soon and I heard Richard was in it...has anybody seen it yet?

Oh man....*is tearing up* He does seem to remind me so much of my Uncle Dave. He's just so awesome. I've never met Richard in my life, but somehow....I feel like I have.

I showed my Uncle Dave my book, or rather the stratch copy, and he loves it! He can't wait to read it when it gets published too! *grabs a tissue* I'm so excited!

Edit'd: I've NEVER seen the funeral. And I've always wanted too. I wish I had something to trade for it. I have no way of copying/ripping anything that I own. Cause I've got nearly 6 1/2 hours of Muppet Babies on VHS, but no way to transfer it.

Same here...there's just something that seems vaguely familiar about him. My dad lived in New Jersey just one year before Richard was born, so there's always the possibility that they met or something, and then some freak genetic chance instilled the memory in my brain by acccident, but...that's impossible, so probably not. :smirk:

Well I won the funeral, so I'll let you guys know what his part was and stuff. :excited:

And about the VHS stuff...I've had to do a couple of school projects by taking things off of VHS, and if you hook your camera to the back of the VCR, and, if you have a digital camera, push this special button, it'll record onto your camera. Unless it's copyright protected, in which you are screwed.

My library has both Of Muppets And Men (book) and Jim Henson: The Works, so I check them out all the time. In the bonus features of the first season of Fraggle Rock Richard talks a little about Jr Gorgs voice. I can do a pretty good Scooter.

Hey, I've got an Uncle Dave, too, out near San Francisco. He, however, is nothing like Richard Hunt. Sure, he's a comedian, too, but of a different sort.

My folks and their respective families all come from north/north central Jersey, too (I was born in Alaska but I'm considered a Jersey girl too, kind of), and we're a large, loud, crazy goof-off family, so I've got that in common with Richard.

As for the funeral...I've never seen it. I didn't even know it was out on video.

XD Everybody has an Uncle Dave apperently. He lives in Pennslvania. I think he was born near New Jersey, but I'm not sure. I'd have to ask him. The funniest thing is, his wife's name is Janice. XD

Never really thought about it, but suddenly, it's REALLY funny now. True fans will know what I mean. Think about it though. Uncle Dave's a lot like Richard, and his wife's name is Janice.

Hello dear loyal fans/lovers/imaginary girlfriends of Richard Hunt!! I have created a DeviantART club just for The RHLC! It will contain all pictures of Richard Hunt, and his muppets that he performed. More then likely it will consist mostly of favorites I've gathered around DA, but it will be a very nice repostory of those pictures.

    Enjoy!
