Inside the Magic: (A very Reliable source for all things Disney) is reporting that a new movie to star Roger Rabbit alongside Mickey Mouse is in the works.

From the article:
  • Gary K. Wolf is best known for writing the novel that inspired the wildly popular 1988 film “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”. Under Toontown reporter pen name Walter Windchill, Wolf has announced on his blog that he is now developing a concept to start Roger Rabbit in a new feature film called “The Stooge” alongside Mickey Mouse.
Here’s what Windchill, er Wolf, wrote:
I’ve just been told by one of my hush-hush Hollywood sources that there’s a new movie in the works starring big-time Toontown stars Mickey Mouse and Roger Rabbit.

The movie is called The Stooge. It will be based on the classic Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis movie of the same name. The story has the emotional empathy and sensibilities of Wall-E and Toy Story. It will be a (G) Rated Pixar type animated musical buddy comedy. Mickey takes on the Dean Martin role, Roger, who is already regarded as a comic genius in France, takes the Jerry Lewis part.
The film incorporates five specific locations from the Disneyland park. It also introduces the Toon Train, an exciting and interesting way to travel through Toontown.
The film features real-life people. Walt Disney costars. Orson Wells makes an appearance.
The packaged Development Proposal is currently being evaluated by Disney and Pixar. Meetings are happening! Directors and writers are being evaluated.

They were talking about a new Roger Rabbit movie for a while, but whatever it is, I just hope they don't make the characters CGI instead of hand drawn. It messes up the whole point of the characters.

'Toons.

At the very least, they could use the CG style as seen in this test footage.

I dunno if this is the Roger Rabbit sequel I want to see. it has potential, it sounds good, It will hopefully be free from Zemeckis's scary motion capture zombie films of which TinTin kicked the butt of all of.

Still, I'd rather something as big and grand as the original film with all the entertainment companies possible cooperating for character likenesses. And since more of these companies are owned by less of them, we'd be guaranteed to see a lot of the holdouts from last time. At least give Droopy a cameo.

You Know, This Could Be A Seperate Movie From The Sequel

I think this will be separate from the sequel, (or prequel) to the movie, if it actually gets made. It might just be made to re-introduce people to Roger and get them excited for the next movie.

Do you think they'd be able to get the other trademarked characters to make a cameo?

At the very least, they could use the CG style as seen in this test footage.
Hmmm...I still don't really like it. He still looks like a CG character, which is really not the point of the characters. I don't know.

I wonder what time period this movie and/or the sequel will take place in.

It might not even happen if it's just a proposal...

Yeah, right now it's nothing. But we're definetley going to get something with Roger in the future. Especially with the fact that there are two movies possibly in the works.
