Have you ever heard the "truth" about something or someone that you just wish you didn't know at all? Well, that's the purpose of dis very thread!

  • Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles both smoke
  • Paul Lynde gay
  • Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie being considered gay shows
  • The birds and the bees:embarrassed:
  • Jim Henson's original intention for the muppets was for adult entertainment only.
  • Kathy Greenwood appeared on Queer as Folk
  • Daylights Saving Time is being extended in a few years.

Hmm...well, here is my take on some of these.
Ryan Stiles smoking I am not all that surprised about. He sounds like a smoker.
Paul Lynde--Yes, he was gay. Thought this was common knowledge but maybe not.
Bewitched and Jeannie--how are these considered "gay shows"?
Jim Henson's original intentions--When you say "adult entertainment" you make it seem like he was planning to make the Muppets into porn stars or something. the truth is that he didn't want the Muppets to be only for children. He didn't want to be considered a "kiddie" entertainer. He wanted his work to be appreciated by adults as well.
Greenwood on Queer as Folk--what's the problem?
Daylight savings being extended--Holy crap!

1. I just never thought Ryan would be a smoker is all.
2. I guess I'm just too young to tell whether someone is gay or not.
3. Watch "Tickled Pink" on TV Land, and you'll see.
4. No I wasn't trying to say Jim was intending the muppets to be porn stars!:stick_out_tongue: But I see where you're coming from, and this has cleared things up, thank you.
5. I don't wanna see Kathy making out with a woman!
6. Holy crap indeed!

The Paul Lynde thing...
Don't blame yourself for not knowing. Its actually maybe a good thing because he doesn't matter to you. Those things don't stand out in your mind so much and they shouldn't. I guess maybe I was confused because you said it was something you wish you didn't know. Is it disturbing to you or something? Cuz the same could probably be said of Nathan Lane, Fred Willard or the dad from the Brady Bunch. We never think about it though because they don't make it an issue in their work.

Just a little, because up until then, I just thought was more eccentric (sp?) than most. Same with Nathan Lane, Ellen DeGeneres, and certain others.

Something I hate hearing about and almost wish I didn't know about is drugs. I hate hearing how celebrities (or sometimes even people I know) have taken drugs in their career, etc. I hate hearing about it because it is a subject that I feel very strongly about, and it is almost a dissapointment to hear that an idol of mine had to resort to drugs in their career.
I say I 'almost' wish, instead of just 'I wish', because I think that knowing these kinds of things makes people less naive, and understand the ways of the world better. Sure, it may not be pretty, but it's true. And sometimes, it's better to live in a harsh reality, than a pretty dream.

Try not to let it bother you. Everyone likes those shows! I like them, and I am not a gay man. Then again, I'm not a man at all, I'm a woman. But still!!
