You're being too nice to those people. Mistaking Big Bird for Wembley? That's practically a criminal offense? How do you even relate the two? Big Bird is a yellow and feathery bird, while Wembley has no feathers present, and is yellow, but very slightly. How could the two even compare?

If it's not a criminal offense, it should be.
  3. PanthraDion Well-Known Member

Yea, I agree. How could anyone mistake Wembley for Big Bird??
  4. Mo Frackle Well-Known Member

Easy. They only have vague memories of what the Bird looks like.

Oh! I know! I believe Big Bird or whatever that creature is a canary. Now why can't anyone know what a bird even is. Hmmmm!

People wondering how is Robin Kermit's son in MCC when he's really his nephew. Not realizing that The Muppets ARE NOT PLAYING THEMSELVES IN IT!!!
  9. Mo Frackle Well-Known Member

Adding on to that, I vaguely recall hearing at least one person who thought Robin really was Kermit's son.

Their like was Kermit & Piggy keeping something from us? I'm like omg I just wanna punch people in the face! Sickos! ><

Speaking of misnaming, I once watched the Columbia/Tristar version of TMM on DVD with the subtitles on (to clarify misheard lines). And the subtitle-makers goofed: When Kermit talks to Lew Zealand ("I told you, Lew..."), the subtitles misname him as "Luke." Looks like I'm not the only one mishearing lines!

That DVD had quite a few subtitle goofs on it. During Gonzo's song, when he says, "we can hold onto love like invisible strings", the subtitles read "we can hold onto young like invisible strings". Also, while the gang are on the bus and Animal is saying, "Showdown! Showdown!", the subtitles read "Chugga! Chugga!".

Have you ever watched the 1993 video of TMM from Jim Henson Productions? When the film stops right after the incident with Prof. Krassman and Piggy leaves Kermit, and Animal is impatient for his scene, he says "Irritated, Irritated!!" But the captions say he says "Arek-tek-tek!!" I mean, how could you miss that one? Plus, it's not quite as funny.
  14. Mo Frackle Well-Known Member

Actually, until I saw the Columbia/Tri Star subtitles, I had no idea what Animal was saying.

Someone on YouTube yesterday spelt "Kermit's" name as "Kormet" McKormet seasonings anyone?
  16. muppetfan24/7 Well-Known Member

They did WHAT? :coy: Uh-oh! I don't like the sound of that. It's "Kermit", not "Kormet" you non-Muppet fans. Gosh! Why do they misname this famous Muppet character again?
  17. Pinkflower7783 Well-Known Member

I don't know I rarely read the comments on YouTube which obviously now I know why I do. :p
  18. Hubert Well-Known Member

That's why I read the Youtube comments. To get a nice laugh at a misnaming and then come here and rant about it...

Does Jim Henson still perform Kermit? Oi!!! YouTube just gives me headaches I tell you. >< By the way I read that one a few months ago.

At least that's a little more valid than someone thinking that Jim is basically the only Muppeteer that exists...I've seen people say something like:

"Jim sure had a wide voice range to be able to perform Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, and Big Bird."
