I've been meaning to ask about something on this subject. Is there any store where I can purchase these without ordering from Timelife or any company? Timelife forgot to send me a copy of Volume 6. I got a DVD player for Christmas and I would especially like to find either a VHS or DVD that one somewhere. I would also like to get volumes 16-20 without reordering. How would I go about doing that?

Volumes 16-20 don't exist yet. There's no way to get them. As things stand now, Time-Life will offer those first though. If you purchased vol. 6 from Time-Life and they left it out of your order or sent you another title by mistake, they usually happily do an exchange if you write them and thoroughly explain your situation. Fill out a customer service form on their site and they will help you out.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll look into that. Another thing I'm wondering about, and this is changing the subject, but is there any video store where I can purchase "Muppet Family Christmas?" My mom works as a teacher's aide and she was watching it with her students the other day and she said she wanted to see it again. I was thinking of buying it for her birthday. Any suggestions on this?

Of the non-Time Life series, I have the following already on VCD (for trade):

15. Paul Williams, Florence Henderson, Valerie Harper
16. Candice Bergen, Marisa Berenson, Buddy Rich (first 2 mins. missing)
17. James Coco, Phyllis Diller, Connie Stevens (this one has the Bert song)
18. Avery Schrieber, Kaye Ballard, Mummenshanz
19. Don Knotts, Zero Mostel, Rich Little
20. Milton Berle, Judy Collins, Nancy Walker
21. Lou Rawls, Petula Clark, Jaye P. Morgan (not burned yet but will if interested)

(I know that Mummenshanz is on one of the dvd's but I missed it)
Anyway these are the recent Canadian airings, with a few more on the way, hopefully.

Well, no offense to you or anything, but most people who I've offered to trade with online haven't kept their word to send me something, so I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that.

My Wish List for DVD's 16-20

Hello. This is neat to see everybody's wish lists and discussions about this topic. For me, there's some guests that should be on these because they have been well regarded in the public eye-
-Christopher Reeve
-Johnny Cash
-Loretta Lynn
-Jean Stapleton (wasn't she instrumental in the future of TV Mom's?)

Close Connection to Henson-
-Candace Bergen
-Paul Williams

Fun Episodes-
-Phyllis George
-Glenda Jackson
-Doug Henning
-Gladys Knight (a personal favorite)

We need more 1st season episodes-
-Lena Horne
-Sandy Duncan
-Ben Vereen
-Ethel Merman
-Kaye Ballard

Here's how I would put them
#16
Christopher Reeve/Candace Bergen/Paul Williams

#17
Ethel Merman/Kaye Ballard/Jean Stapleton

#18
Loretta Lynn/Johnny Cash/Lena Horne

#19
Gladys Knight/Ben Vereen/Sandy Duncan

#20
Phyllis George/Glenda Jackson/Doug Henning

What do you think?

Here's my episode list for the Muppet Show DVD's 16-20:

16. Milton Berle, Wally Boag, Doug Henning
*Pic on Front Box: Fozzie, Scooter, Penguin

17. Zero Mostel, Bernadette Peters, Nancy Walker
*Pic on Front Box: Sam the Eagle, Floyd Pepper

18. Roy Clark, Loretta Swit, Anne Murray
*Pic on Front Box: Link Hogthrob, Miss Piggy

19. Candice Bergen, Alan Arkin, Johnny Cash

20. Paul Williams, Victor Borge, Glenda Jackson

(What do you think of this, Disney? Time-Life Video was planning to use more DVD's. Perhaps you could bring the rights of the Muppetsto Time-Life, in case you don't have the rights to do a complete version, and tell Time-Life to immediatly bring the rights of the Muppets back to you. : Okay?)

I have been thinking about starting a thread like this for a long time. i have thought about this since I heard that Columbia was releasing the time-life DVDs and releasing an additional 5 volumes. I guess it's too late now, but this is what I would have included:

Volume 16: Linda lavin, Phyllis George, and Zero Mostel.
Volume 17: Shirley Bassey, Kaye Ballard, and Leo Sayer.
Volume 18: Hal Lindon, Valerie Harper, and Kris Kristofferson & Rita Kooledge
Volume 19: Paul Williams, Avery Schrieber, and Loretta Switt.
Volume 20: Rich Little, Judy Collins, and Leslie Uggums.

I'm sorry, you've got to prefer my list. Only two of the episodes on your list, Minor Muppetz, have generic intros. A lot of the specifiez episodes have some pretty memorable things to see to me.

Oops! I meant that only two of the episodes on your list, Minor Muppetz, have SPECIFIC intros. I miswrote my post.

Anyway, here's a perfect list of The Muppet Show DVD's 16-20:
(Perhaps Time-Life could think of the Did-You-Knows.)

Volume 16
*Charles Aznavour, Loretta Switt, Zero Mostel
*Muppets On The Front of the DVD/VHS: Gonzo, Dr. Teeth, Rizzo, Animal
*Muppetism: Rizzo (the rat)
*Movie Mania: Wizard of Oz (a Frank Oz Muppet acts like a Wizard)
*From The Archives: Janice, Floyd

Volume 17
*Candice Bergen, Ethel Merman, Doug Henning
*Muppets On The Front of the DVD/VHS: Fozzie, Kermit, Scooter
*Muppetism: Johnny (the man) & Sal (the ape)
*Movie Mania: Jurrassic Park (a dinosaur tries to park his car)
*From The Archives: Fozzie Bear

Volume 18
*Spike Milligan, Wally Boag, Milton Berle
*Muppets On The Front of the DVD/VHS: Statler, Waldorf
*Muppetism: The Swedish Chef (or The Gibberish Chef)
*Movie Mania: King Kong (a Chinese Royal Gorrilla talks about "Hong Kong")
*From The Archives: Sam the Eagle

Volume 19
*Bernadette Peters, Anne Murray, Alan Arkin
*Muppets On The Front of the DVD/VHS: Robin, Sweetums, Gonzo
*Muppetism: Sweetums (the sweetest creep)
*Movie Mania: Muppet Screen Test - Singin' In The Rain
*From The Archives: Robin the Frog

Volume 20
*Paul Williams, Shirley Bassey, Phyllis George
*Muppets On The Front of the DVD/VHS: Link, Piggy, Dr. Strangepork
*Muppetism: Sam (an American)
*Movie Mania: Star Wars (Beaker interviews a group of stars fighting)
*From The Archives: Scooter

(What do you think, (Disney)? If you don't have the rights about that, OK, here's the plan: You could bring the rights of The Muppets to Time-Life, then Time-Life would be honored to make volume 16-20 of The Best of The Muppet Show, and you would also ask Time-Life to bring you back the rights of the Muppets immediately after the volumes from 16-20 are released all done. After all, it's the 30th Anniversary of The Muppet Show. Would this be a deal?)
