LOL WasOnceErnie .. you don't make Puppet protos by any chance do ya? haha

As for the eye positioning and other QC issues people have mentioned .. i'm sure hopefully eFX can be mindful of it all and check what they can but obviously you cannot check each one and i take it these will still be mass manufactured overseas and still by factories who are more used to making teddy bears than detailed high end replicas so there is probably always going to be little issues that crop up .. though hopefully nothing as major as the Gonzo nose thing and i do agree with Frogboy Master Replicas could have sorted that issue in a better way. Rizzo hopefully should be a good first one for them to attempt design wise, i would have said Fozzie would be another but obviously the more complicated Pepe and Piggy are getting the call up.

I've heard some people say their Gonzo's eye focus wasn't "too" bad, but I have yet to see a photo of a factory fresh one that looks even moderately passable in the pupil department. The defense of that was ludicrous, yet such an easy fix. It just sounds as if we won't be having to customize such standard features with the EFX. I just hope they don't fall into the same sort of small business trap that MR *appeared* to have fallen into with the factory quality and debt in its later days. I'm just so happy this poser tradition is going to continue. Honesty, even if we only get one more my collection will seem fuller. Something about the current trio just seems empty to me. Muppets tend to come in pairs.:embarrassed:

I kinda agree .. on the one hand yes it is probably just one person at the factory with little specialist knowledge rushing through 2,000 posers sticking eyes on, lol, but yea, it wouldn't have taken much for someone to have shown them the Henson positioning - but then maybe they did and i'm sure with these factories once the QC and developers are out of sight they are maybe a little more time=profits minded. I do hope its different, they are things for specialist collectors so its not like the majority aren't bothered such is the case with a Tickle Me Elmo. I am really looking forward to Rizzo, one of my favourites and i may even attempt some custom themes or displays.

Looks like efx will have to get themselves an I.T. Manager to keep their website up to date! Their Newsletters are still from last year and their team profile needs updating plus a muppet page needs to be added, so we can go to to find out the latest.

Sad thing is that it was suppose to be revamped last month and they where going to have a new site. I don't know whatever happened.

So what exactly is the new process here?
The same as before....a sample is made and then it is sent to China to be replicated.Who ever is making the Artist Prototypes is keeing a low profile. It might be within eFX.

That stuff takes time. It depends if it's a total site revamp or just a bit of an update. Personally their site design looks a little wonky. I'd lend my services to fixing it at a good rate.

Um...I meant exactly who is making the prototype. How involved is Puppet Heap in the construction. How far does their expertise extend? If you don't know the actual answer beyond "some puppet builders they pick" or something to that extent then please allow someone that does to respond. Thanks. :halo:

I know how these get made. I've been part of that sort of process before. This question was more for WOE because it seems he might be working with them or knows who exactly is the chief designer(s).
