Well towards the end of his life, I think Jim would do Sesame for fun kind of the way Frank dose today. he would put away all the busness side of JHC and just be a Muppeter, and have a lot of fun doing it to.

Yeah. I've heard of that. I thought the situation was settled, but I guess for whatever reason Kevin still doesn't want to return and I guess we all need to respect that decision. Yet it is hard to imagine anyone else performing Elmo. I'm not sure what more to say. This is very sad news indeed.

Just reading about this, apparently a second guy came forward also claiming underage sexual relations with Kevin. NO idea of the real story, if true or not, but all I can say is I'm very sad to see Kevin leave Sesame Workshop after enjoying his work for so many years.

"Saying Goodbye" dose somehow seem to fit with all this.

Nobody knows what exactly is going on, some sources say it's the same guy recanting his recant, some sources say it's another guy, but nevertheless, this is blow to us all.

At least we FINALLY have an identity to this little weasel, and there's one comment from Mr. Sheldumb Snearvens that's making me a little red under the collar:
See, that's that unfortunate stigma that is place on puppeteers in general, and why there's a stereotype that they're pedophiles, because they use puppets as a tool to lure unsuspecting minors. Sad, sad, sad.

When puppets in general can be used to reach such a brod range of people, not just kids but adults to.

If you're looking for sex, you're looking for trouble. End of story. No one's an angel. But I really wish people would stop treating willing 16 and 17 year olds the same as some gross uncle fondling their baby/toddler niece. If there's a teenage sex line out there that's not a trap set by law enforcement, then someone should be punished besides a children's entertainer who might/might not have done something based on non-existant evidence.

The sad part is, even if this were some nasty prank by some vindictive duncebucket, Kevin's name is tarnished. TMZ gets more ratings and goes on to destroy another person's life so morbidly obese slackjawed yokels can find reasons to hate people that do nothing but bring them entertainment to forget how much of obese slackjawed yokels they really are. I'd say that TMZ caters to the lowest common denominator, but you can't divide by zero.

And again, with no evidence, but a shark enough of a lawyer to get money from him?

This is sad. I wonder if production on the next season will be delayed. I don't know if Clash had an understudy, but then again, they could very well have less new Elmo material next year. With Elmo the Musical and several old Elmo segments, they could probably stand to make more Elmo-less stories. And they'll probably reuse old street stories, might as well repeat ones with Elmo as the main character.

I hope Clash doesn't have trouble finding work. I wonder if The Jim Henson Company or Disney will let him perform for them.

I hate TMZ. I've been hating them ever since they started.

Give the people a break already. That's how they get money, by spoling people's names and spreading private news.

And you just know that Sheldumb Snearvens has some sort of porno on his web browser while mentioning that. But again, 16 and 17 is NOT the same as 3. It's not like he was using Elmo to get little kids to take their pants off. The allegations are bad, but there's WORSE than that happening every day with no punishment or comeuppance of any kind.

You don't know this person. How do you know he's a weasel? Hey, maybe he is. Maybe he isn't.

And, honestly, it's like like Kevin Clash is really helping the stereotype by befriending minors and having sex with them soon after they reach majority. He's admitted to that, at least. That's creepy even if it isn't illegal.

Again, it's not fair to blame the accusers any more than it is to say that Kevin Clash should be thrown in jail right now. Perhaps there is more to the story.

I realize sentiment lies with the man whose work you admire. I hope his story is true, too. But it is possible that it is not. Either way, I hope justice prevails.

What I don't understand is how kids are on an adult line. I would think that those lines would require some sort of acknowledgment that the user was 18. If the underage person in fact confirmed that they were "18" then that is on them for lying about their age. I don't believe an adult sex line would have a "search" functionality such as "press 1 for underage boys."

Furthermore, I was cornered by an old pervert when I was younger and he was talking dirty to me--I called the cops on him...I don't ever think of that (until now) and even still, it doesn't bother me. That being said, suing for 5 million dollars for emotional trauma is a BS claim from someone looking for a handout. It is also very convenient that this accuser came forth now...why not years ago? I may try to find the perv that approached me and get my 5 mil.

This is undoubtedly front-page, top-of-the-hour news. I just hope that the lawsuit will be settled in some way or another (hopefully in Mr. Clash's favor). I don't care who started it, or what Kevin and the accuser(s) really did (although there is a lot of fishy information in the stories I've read). He really loved working with the Muppets, and inspired millions of children and adults. This is a horrible way for him to leave. I hope Sesame Street will be able to continue while Kevin's gone...will they reach 50 years???

On a lighter note, watch this... we love you, Elmo...

I'm glad that someone has pointed this out. We don't know the truth. We just know that a hero did something that to us, is unthinkable. We can't let those feelings blind us to the fact that there may be some truth in it. Is it fishy, yes, but to throw your anger at possible victims is gross. It's also similar to what other victims of abuse endure. I don't know how we can give any kind of judgement either way....other than that this is super ******.

This scandal is only two weeks old. Just as it's premature to call him guilty, there is just as little info to make him innocent. We don't know. What we do know is that Kevin chose to mingle with very young men, both of whom had a history of trouble. A 50 year old man in Kevin's position and career should not be messing around with 18 or even 20 year old men. The idea that people here seem to think that because a 15 or 16 year old chose to go on a gay chat line is makes the possibility that he was talking to them okay is ludicrous.

He works on a children's television show. That is wreckless, not just for himself, but if more comes out the same guy who we credit for saving the Street may end up being the same guy to tarnish it.

To paraphrase Frank Burns of MASH, this whole thing just tightens my colon. I'm sad to see Kevin go, especially like this. I hope that the first accuser is happy now because he has essentially ruined a man's name and reputation by accusing Kevin of something he didn't do and, as we have now seen, opened the door for others to make similar outcries.

Just like the Jerry Sandusky scandal!!! I hope to God that there won't be like five other people following the first accuser's lead and "coming out" against Kevin.

As I said, no idea what's true or not, but one thing is true, Kevin has resigned. And I'm a sad Muppet fan for it. I do agree, though that these kinds of stories give puppeteers a bad view. Sadly most people think of puppetry as children's entertainment only. We are an ignorant society.
