Wow, that's so cool! I had a hunch there was somethin' a-brewin'! And four days is a pretty nice chunk of time to have, too! That's going to be a terrific time for you both, I'm sure. I can't wait to read about it! Say, Alex, is haggis kinda like blood pudding? I had that in England but didn't have a chance to sample haggis during my brief stay in Scotland. Anyway, have a great trip and visit!

Now THAT would be cool. We should organize an MC International Food Get-together. It could last for days and we could just feed ourselves silly. Great idea.

And not just countries, but regional cooking from within countries, the U.S. for example is not just MacDonald's, we have as many regional recipes as we have states and towns.
nah, that wouldnt work. in australia we dont really have any 'authentic' dishes....nope, cant think of one.

YES . . . You win . . . a shipment of haggis, which is:

a pudding popular esp. in Scotland made of the heart, liver, and lungs of a sheep or calf minced with suet, onions, oatmeal and seasonings and boiled in the stomach of the animal.

I personally would need excessive amounts of beer beforehand to consume this, and a blindfold, but that's just me.

Australia has no regional recipes?? That can't be right. Really? Well, we'll just bring you stuff to eat.

Hey! Haggis is great stuff!

It is, however, somewhat worrying that one in three American visitors to Scotland firmly believe that they can go hunting for haggis in the Highland glens...

Weird stuff: http://www.electricscotland.com/haggis/

Sadly, I could not bring Byron a haggis, as you can't bring meat products into the US. A live haggis, on the other hand, posed less of a problem...

"Blood pudding" (aka Black Pudding): no, this is something different  http://www.g4cio.demon.co.uk/bpudding/pudding.htm

"Grits": where I come from, "grit" is what you put on the road when there are icy patches about. Not to be taken internally!

Ok, so, I'm in LA right now. I have a flight in five hours.
It's 3000 miles to Kentucky, I got a full bag of clothes, half a bottle of water, it's not dark and I'm wearing sunglasses. Hit it...
