I'm back baby!

Chapter 6

That night, Matt was sleeping in the hammock that Gobo made for him, and was drifted off into his dreams. But in this paticular dream, a memory of his resurfaced that he had forgotten years ago.

It was a few hours after his great uncle Gobo's funeral. Every fraggle was in attendence, and was grieving over the loss. One by one, the fraggles left the gravesite, to the great hall to reflect on their memories of his uncle. When young Matt was the only one left, he placed a flower on his uncle's grave, and pulled out a hanky.
"Goodbye uncle Gobo. You taught me so many things, but will never forget you."
He walked away, but was secretly followed by someone.
In his private cave, Matt was sitting on his uncle's bed, sobbing uncontrollibly. He looked around the cave, and everything reminded him of his uncle.
"I feel so alone." He blew his nose and put his hands in his face.
Just then, someone sat down next to him and put her arms around him. He looked at who it was, and sure enough, it was Storyteller fraggle.
"You're not alone. I'll be here with you." She put his head on her shoulder.
"Thank you." he whispered gently. He began crying again, making Storyteller hold him tighter, trying to squeeze out his troubles.
The two sat there for the longest time, with Matt repeating "Thank you."

Matt woke up with a start. He had a revelation.
"She was the only friend I had in the whole world. And I abandoned her when I started to explore outer space. Well, I'll fix all of that."

The next day, Matt was working for Storyteller again, but was visibly nervous.
"What's wrong Matt?" Storyteller asked. "You haven't been like yourself today."
"Well, I just....I was just reflecting."
"Reflecting?"
"Yes, I was reflecting. I was remembering my uncle's funeral."
"Oh. I remember that too."
"And I also remember that you comforted me when I needed it the most, and were my only friend. And I am grateful for that."
"Well....you're welcome."
"But, I do remember also when I went into outer space for the first time, leaving Fraggle Rock behind,.....including you."
Storyteller looked at the floor. "Yeah....I..."
"But I have decided to make that up to you. Because, I want to ask you a question."
Storyteller started to shake with excitement. "Yes Matt?"
Matt got down on one knee, and pulled out a moss ring.
"Will you marry me?"
Storyteller screamed with delight. She grabbed Matt and kissed him. Matt was willing to return the kiss.
"Oh, yes! Yes I will!"
With that, Matt kissed her and held her in his arms.
Outside, a figure with pink hair was watching, shocked.
"Uncle Matt.....getting married?"

Chapter 7

Later that day, Matt came dancing into Gobo and Wembley's private cave, humming a happy tune.
"Hip hip horray! I'm going to dance and sing all day!"
"Gosh Gobo's uncle Matt, why are you so happy?"
"Because Wembley, my good lad, life is good to me. And it's good to you, and it's good to my favorite nephew, Gobo."
Gobo looked up from his map drawing. "I'm your only nephew." He muttered.
"What was that nephew?"
"Nothing, nothing. I just.....nothing."
"Ah, I see. Well boys, I have some great news."
"What's that Matt?" Wembley asked.
"The Storyteller and I are getting married!"
Matt jumped with joy, making Wembley jump with joy. They started squaredancing with each other. Gobo threw down his pen.
"Uncle Matt, you can't get married!"
Wembley and Matt stopped, with Matt looking shocked at Gobo.
"But...why not nephew?"
"Uncle, it's a explorer tradition! When you make a vow to become a explorer, you must venture the quest alone!"
Matt smirked. "Oh nephew, history changes. And besides, I am not a explorer anymore anyway."
Gobo frowned. "How dare you. You're denying your explorer roots!"
"Now see here nephew...."
"No, you see! Now that you have retired, I must take the torch."
Now, Matt was angry.
"Gobo, you will get the torch when I say you get the torch."
"Is that so?"
"Yes."
Gobo started to mock him. "History changes."
"Gobo Jerry Fraggle! Don't you sass me!"
"You can't tell me what to do anymore. I'm a grown fraggle."
"Is that so? Well then, if it is time to pass the torch, maybe it's time you venture off into outer space alone then!!"
"I just might do that!!"
"FINE!!"
"FINE!!"
Gobo and Matt stormed off into different directions. Wembley looked visibly shaken.
"Uh oh, this is not good."

You said it, Wembley.

WOW! This is... I mean... it... wow! I... I'm not quite sure how to respond to that... I mean it's beautifully done, and I can see it in my mind, but it just... wow. I'm completely blown away... wow.

Hey did I say "wow" yet?

Chapter 8

Gobo was furiously packing his backpack. He kept on grumbling to himself.
"I can't believe this. He took the oath. Well, I guess I will have to carry on the tradition myself." He packed almost everything of his, except for his picture of Matt. He turned it around and started to leave the cave. But just in time, Wembley entered the cave.
"Gobo, where are you going?"
"I'm leaving Wembley. I'm going to explore outer space."
"But Gobo, your uncle is getting married today!"
"I don't care. He doesn't need me there, in fact, I don't need him!"
He tried to exit, but Wembley kept getting in his way.
"Wembley, move!"
"No! I won't! Now, you take off that backpack and just calm down, before you do something you will regret!"
"Wembley, please...."
Wembley didn't budge. Seeing that he couldn't win, Gobo sighed and took off his backpack.
Wembley smiled. "That's better. Now Gobo, what is really bothering you?"
Gobo sat down on his bed, and sighed again.
"Well...it's just that.....I don't want things to change. I'm afraid of change, you understand?"
Wembley shook his head. "But Gobo, everything is changing. In fact, you made friends with Doc and Sprocket, and Matt didn't object."
"Well...that's true."
"And now your uncle's getting married. That's a change, but it's a good change."
Gobo looked at Wembley.
"You know Wembley, you're right. You have matured alot these past years."
Wembley smiled. "Thanks Gobo. Well....the wedding's in a half an hour."
Gobo stood up. "I guess I better get ready then." He walked over to the other side of the cave and picked up his nice clothes; a white shirt with a black jacket.
Wembley walked out of the cave. "See ya there, Gobo."
"See ya there Wembley."
As Gobo was getting dressed, Matt came into the room.
"Hello nephew."
Gobo looked up.
"Hello uncle."
Gobo took a deep breath.
"Look, I'm sorry about what I said before. I didn't mean it, I was just upset."
"I'm sorry too Gobo." Then, Matt noticed the backpack on Gobo's bed.
"I see you're packed for a big trip."
"Yeah, I was going to go into outer space. But...I guess I won't now."
"Nonsense! It's time for you to! In fact, I have a little present for you."
Matt walked accross the cave and picked up a wrapped present.
"Here you go nephew."
Gobo took the gift and opened it. It was explorer's clothes, similar to Matt's, but in a brown color.
"They were your great uncle Gobo's. He gave them to me when I was your age. They didn't fit me though, but I am sure they will fit you."
Gobo put on the jacket, shorts, white scarf, and hat. They did fit very well.
"Thank you uncle Matt!" exclaimed Gobo.
"Gobo, I now pass the torch to you."
With that, Gobo hugged his uncle, and his uncle returned it.
"You better put your nice clothes back on. It is my wedding after all."
"Oh yeah! The wedding! Let's go!"
Gobo changed his clothes quickly, and he and Matt raced out the cave door.

So... *Waiting in the hall...
Ernie: Did I miss it? Did I miss it?
Am I early or am I late?
Bert: No, they'll be here any minute.
Cookie Monster: Oh boy, me can hardly wait.

Crazy Harry: It's the wedding of the century.
Pops: It's the wedding of the year.
Sam the Eagle: Well, can't we start without them?
The Newsman: No, we can't until they're here.
Sam: Ah yes.

So, when's the wedding again?

Chapter 9

The time had come. The great hall was decorated from head to toe with white balloons, white ribbons, and every fraggle in the universe had attended. Including a frog and his nephew.
"Gee uncle Kermit, this is exciting!"
"It sure is Robin. But we have to be quiet now, I think they may be starting soon."
Wembley, Mokey, Red and Boober were sitting in the front row. And dozens upon dozens of fraggles in the other rows. Gobo was standing at the alter, and Cantus the minstrel was the leader of the ceremonies.
"Are we ready to begin?" Cantus asked.
"Ready." Gobo stated.
"Then, let the procession begin." Cantus took out his magic pipe and began playing a song.
Matt came up the aisle, in a spiffy tuxedo, with the proudest look on his face. He came up to Gobo and gave him a big hug.
"Good luck uncle Matt."
"Thanks. Confidentially, I'm terrified right now." He pointed to his knees, and sure enough, they were knocking.
Gobo chuckled. "Don't worry. You'll be fine."
Now, the time had come for the bride to walk down the aisle. Storyteller had on the most beautiful dress that no fraggle had ever seen. Behind her, Tosh fraggle was tossing flowers, and Marlin fraggle was taking pictures. But, when I say taking pictures, I mean painting pictures the best he can.
"Ah...heh....ha...HOLD STILL!" He kept fumbling with the paint and paper.
Storyteller got to the alter, and took her position. Cantus stopped playing.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to unite these two fraggles in fraggley matramony. If there is anyone here who objects to this union, let them speak now, or forever hold your peace."
Large Marvin stood up.
"Yes, I would like to say something."
Everybody gasped.
"And, why do you object?"
"Object? No, I would like to have a piece of cake."
Feeny tapped his shoulder.
"I don't think he ment that kind of piece."
"What do you mean? He clearly said, "Forever hold your piece", and I would like a piece of cake."
Red stood up and faced them.
"Not that kind of peace, radishbrain!"
"Hey! I'm not a radish brain!"
The argument continued, until Gobo shouted,
"STOP IT!!!! Nobody objects, Cantus. Continue."
Cantus nodded and looked in the book.
"Do you, Matt fraggle, take this woman, to be your lawfully wedded wife, as long as you shall live?"
"I do."
"And do you, Storyteller fraggle, take this man to be you lawfully wedded husband, as long as you shall live?"
"I do."
"And now, it is time for the solemn oath of the fraggle."
Matt and Storyteller raised their left hands, and put their right hands on their hearts.
"We solemnly swear, to love each other, in sickness and in health, and will always be truthful to each other, and never part ways, never never never. Weeba weeba, waffa waffa, garposh gumbage, woopie!"
"With that said, I now pronounce you, fraggle man and fraggle wife. You may kiss the bride."
Matt lifted the veil, and kissed Storyteller. The great hall erupted with cheers and tossed fraggles. Matt began to sing.
"Everyday the world begins again,
sunny skies or rain,
I will follow you."
Storyteller began to sing.
"Every sunrise shows me more and more,
so much to explore,
I will follow you."
They sang together.
"Every morning,
everyday,
every evening,
calling us away."
Gobo began to sing.
"While the sun goes round, they'll still be found,
following the sound, something's calling them.
When the world goes drifting back to bed,
memories in thier heads,
wonders follow them."
Everybody in attendence sang along.
"Every morning,
everyday,
every evening,
calling them away."
Matt and Storyteller walked down the aisle, with the biggest grins on their faces.
Gobo looked on with admiration.
"Maybe I'll find the one someday. But right now, I guess I have to finish packing." He began to walk away, until he felt something tug on his jacket.
"Hey Gobo, where are you going? The party's over there."
Gobo looked at the tugger, and it was Red fraggle. Gobo smiled and thought to himself.
"Well, maybe I'll stay for a little while."
He and Red put their arms on each other's shoulders and walked to the party.
