Oh yeah it was done with affection, lol.
Yeah well at least you haven't come across a comment saying Kermit is a toad. Kermit the Toad. -_-
Kermit: ::spits out wine:: A toad?!
(from The Frog Prince, hehe)
I can't even remember what video that was on. I read that one months ago.
Well, remember this little exchange from Emmet Otter:
SNAKE: Hey look, it's a frog!
WEASEL: Nah, that's a toad! Frogs ain't that ugly, right Chuck?
Look, dad, there's a bear.
No, Christine, that's a frog. Bears wear hats.
Better call the janitor, Bergen. There's a toad loose in the theater.
What's Animals real name? Uhhhh....
Isn't his real name Marissa? (kidding)
I thought it was Larry? (Also kidding, lol)
I thought it was Bob? But we can go with Marissa.
And I'm reminded of how Baby Animal would react, saying "Wha?" to the camera, lol.
You're all wrong... his real name is Vegetable R. Mineral.
How about vitamin C?
From the Muppet Movie (1979):
Mad Man Mooney: "Jack, get rid of this heap. Come out here!"
: "What? What?"
Mooney: "That's my jack."
: "Oh, hi Jack!"
: "Jack not name! Jack job!"
Mooney: "How many times have I told you not to talk to the customers?"
Maybe Mi mi mi Boom is a distant relative of Crazy Harry's....
Ya konw, a lot of non-Muppet fans who remember that quote often think Sweetums' name really was Jack. When I was a kid, I was one of these unfortunate people.
Yeah even I have to agree that one is a little more forgive able.
On Jeopardy last night, a contestant was talking about giving her brother a nickname when he was born (she was three years old at the time). Her favourite Sesame Street character was Forgetful Jones, so she decided that her brother's nickname would be Buster, like Forgetful's donkey.
Well, at least the contestant knew who Forgetful Jones is (and the name of his horse!). Hardly any average Joe you see nowadays knows that.
Good point. Sometimes, even the people who grew up with the classic characters seem to forget them.
Separate names with a comma.
