That's one of the few Tim Burton/Johnny Depp films I haven't seen yet that I'm actually interested in seeing. There's one that I will never watch cause I hate the story it's based on, but that's a personal feeling.

Back to topic though...
*Hamlet.
The intro with Mike playing three-card monty to trick Pearl into sending him a movie he wanted to see for a change... Only to have it backfire and Mike end up looking stupid in front of the bots.
Mike: Dude, me and Horatio went down to Copenhagen and snorted some aquafina.
Ghost of Hamlet's father: Murder most foul.
Crow: He murdered a chicken?
Tom, as Queen Gertrude: Face it son, I'm going to rock your uncle's world.
Mike, as Hamlet: You're not my dad!!

Hamlet: To be, or not to be.
Mike: The verbal equivalent of da-da-da-duh... (Beethoven's 5th).
Hamlet: That is the question.
Mike: I'll take "To be" for 50 Alex.
Hamlet: Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.
Tom: Starring Shelley Long and Bette Middler.
Hamlet, in an over-dramatic voice: To dream!
Crow, imitating the same tone: The impossible dream!
Mike: Can we get a verb thrown in there somewhere?
Mike, at the end: So you're a chicken for not killing yourself! There, that's all you had to say!
When I first heard they were going to spoof Hamlet, I didn't think it was possible...but they pulled it off!!

Mike expects Olivier or Branagh, but of course gets a murky dubbed version from the early 1960s starring Maximillian Schell...

Hamlet: I shall not look upon his like again.
Crow: Why were you looking at his like?

Tom (as Claudius grabs a sword from Laertes): New King Claudius, with kung-fu grip!

Claudius: Where is Polonius?
Tom: He came down with an unexpected case of MURDER!

Claudius: Lights!
Mike: Camera! Soliloquy!

Laertes: Exchange forgiveness with me, noble Hamlet.
Tom: Sure, you got a receipt?

Priest: Her death was doubtful.
Tom: Well, shouldn't we check, then?

Claudius: The king drinks to Hamlet!
Tom: H***, the king drinks to anything!
Crow: I got the worm!

Hamlet: Why wouldst thou be a breeder of sinners?
Crow: Be a breeder of schnauzers.

Hamlet: This fell sergeant death...
Mike: He's WWF, right?

Claudius: I like him not.
Crow: I like him...not!

Mike: Hamlet will be back in Thunderball!

Horatio: Let four captains bear Hamlet like a soldier to the stage.
Crow: Captain Spaulding, Captain Kangaroo, Cap'n Crunch...

Mike (as Hamlet kills the king): Ok, better make out a will. I, Claudius...heh, heh, heh, I always tell that joke when I'm dying.

Mike: Nice play, Shakespeare!

Funny host segment where the 'Bots put a sheet over themselves and pretend to be the ghost of Mike's father, who happens to be alive. Then they try other assorted relatives.

ummmm....I seem to be missing my Instant Reference Converter....it's around here somewhere....until I find it, you might have to explain the 'hikeeba'. Send me a note...'hikeeba' is the exact sound that I make when I hiccup..again...thanks for all the MST quotes. It's making me all happy!

"Hikeeba!" is one of MST3K's most beloved catchphrases. It had its origins in a season one episode, Women of the Prehistoric Planet. One of the characters relates a story about his martial arts training. At one point, he cries "Hikeeba! Hah!" and does a goofy pratfall. Whenever a similar moment (or not) appeared in subsequent episodes, one of the guys would inevitably cry "Hikeeba!"

Glad you're enjoying the quotes!

From Catalina Caper, starring former Disney child star Tommy Kirk, and Little Richard:

Crow: Meanwhile, in the dark, impenetrable void, Jean-Paul Sartre was a-movin' and a-groovin'.

Tom: No exit, baby.

Joel: Water Fuzz. They're wet. They care. Tonight's episode, Death Ahoy!
Tom: Yo Ho, Ho and a Bottle of Death!
Crow: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Dead Man!
Joel: Michael, Row Your Murder Ashore!
Tom: Hallelujah!

Monster A Go-Go:

Narrator: There is one terrifying word in the world of nuclear physics...
Tom: "Ooops!"

The Sinister Urge (directed by Ed Wood):

Crow (referring to cop): Bela Lugosi's brother, Shemp Lugosi!

Crow: Ed Wood mustered up all of his incompetence for this movie.

Bloodlust (with Robert "Mr. Brady" Reed):

Mike: On his resume, Robert Reed listed this as The Tempest.

Crow: It would be ironic if the Tree of Death ever got Dutch elm disease.

*Catalina Caper...
Joel: I wonder what frogmen's legs taste like.
Would love to hear the segment at the end where Joel gets fed up with the bots and smashes the portrait with the treasure map over their heads.

Monster A-Go-Go.
Tom: Hey... I thought this was going to be Munster Go Home.

I loved all the Gamera series.

And I especially loved the short, Mr. B. Natural. About a musical elf who's supposed to be a guy, but is played by a pretty woman, teaches a teenage boy about music. It's really crazy.

The ones that stand out in my mind...

Hamlet.
Out of curiosity, Count, which version of Hamlet was so bad that they lampooned it on MST3000? I'd be curious to see that one, being a Shakespeare fan...

Hi... Go through the posts from #50-#60, I believe WinslowLeech posted which specific version it was, one from the 1960's German TV productions.
