It's hard to believe that it has been 23 years since Jim's passing on May 16, 1990. Share your memories of May 16, 1990 and the impact Jim Henson continues to have on your life.

    :news: *staggers in coughing*

*Rhonda Rat sprays some air cleanser around the thread* Sheesh. I'm gonna have to talk to the lab guys about some Pepper spray. Hah! Get it? Pepper?

:news: Ack...ahem...er. Uh, welcome in all new members! Now for this breaking news: Muppet Central has recently been inundated with reports of lurkers trading in their thread-stalker badges for actual, legitimate membership! Administrator Philip, when asked about the alarming fad, shrugged and said, quote: "Hey, new members help the ad revenue! I'm all for it!" The ad revenue could not be reached for comment at this time. However, fellow lurkers known only as "Guest #5623" and "Guest #852" responded thusly: "It's a disgrace to the time-honored art of taking up bandwidth without contributing a darned thing!", and, "I don't know what you're talking about. Never heard of it. Excuse me, I think Justin Beiber just posted a new Tweet, I'm outta here."

Rhonda: Very cultural. Sam will be proud.

:news: Uh...this trend seems to be increasing at such alarming rates that we at Muppet News wonder whether the forum actually has enough room to support such a heavy load of posters! Furthermore -- *a ton of Justin Bieber posters falls from the ceiling, completely burying Newsie*

Rhonda *under steel umbrella* He never learns. Nice ta see ya all. Have a muffin.

Hey guys, my name is Chris and I've been a lurker for a while now. Love the site and thought it was time for me to join. I'm really wanting to get started on making my own puppets and replicas and can't wait to pick your brains!

    Hi all,

Brett here. I'm from Brisbane, Australia. Just here to introduce myself. Life long Henson fan, first time writer in the forum.

Self taught puppeteer. I learnt simply by mirroring Sesame Street/Fraggle Rock/The Muppet Show/Movies.

Grew up doing puppet shows for kids at school and at birthday parties.

I'm currently the 'Puppetry Consultant' in a local (but very professional) production of "Avenue Q", where I'm training the cast in puppetry. I'm also puppeteering on stage in the show, sharing the Nicky and Trekkie Monster roles with another actor.

My profile picture is from another theatre production called, "Puppets vs. People".

While I do a lot of local performances and theatre shows, I intend to get my act together and film some puppetry for YouTube to share with the world :)

My most favourite recent films are, "The Muppets" and "Being Elmo". Absolutely brilliant.

    :news: *ducking falling lurkers* Aaaaaah!

Rhonda: See? What did I tell you about mentioning them? WHAT did I tell you? He never listens.

Welcome in everyone!! Wow, more puppeteers, how awesome is that! As an absolutely uncoordinated nerd, I admire any artist who can work with their body like that. Bravo! Just remember a few simple guidelines:

    1. Muffins are for throwing, not eating. The Chef makes them, and, well...
    2. Do NOT encourage the penguins if they begin dancing and singing. Everyone here cringes at the recollection of the Great Black & White Tap Pant Fiasco.
    3. If Bunsen asks you to "just hold this a moment"...run.

    Enjoy! :)

This is my first time on this website. When I never had this account, I'd look for stories that involve the Muppets. My favorite Muppets are all of them, like Fraggle Rock, Muppets, Sesame Street, and the Bear in the Big Blue House. I love the Muppets, but, if I had to choose just a group, I would definetly choose Dr.Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Those guys rule! :D:sing::flirt::cool::halo:

Now to show how I am a Muppet Freak, heres all of the sprites.:):o:concern::mad:;):sympathy::shifty::rolleyes::confused::eek::D:sing::flirt::cool::halo::hungry::attitude::fishy::sleep::boo::cluck::skeptical::ouch::grr: :news::crazy::oops::zany::electric::cry::scary::search::p:(:insatiable::wisdom::grouchy::super::batty::laugh::smirk::dreamy::coy::sigh::excited::busy::drool::jim::fanatic:

Welcome in Catmaster, Bandit, Leah (great choice of avatar), and ALittleMayhem. (Does insurance protect against that?) As you traverse this great site, try to keep the following rules in mind:

Muffins are for throwing, not eating. (Consider the source :hungry:)

Never step into the path of a pig on a mission...or with a really hard look in her eyes...

Be nice. Don't tell Bunsen that lamp is really his assistant. It's just neighborly, ya know?

    NO DRUMS! NO DRUMS!

    Enjoy!

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Ken Kidney and i'm from Ireland I have loved puppets ever since I was a kid in particular, The Muppets.

It has been my dream for a long time to own a professional puppet and see if I have what it takes. The problem is I don't have a lot of money and a lot of companies don't ship outside the US. Even the sellers on eBay won't for the most part. So I thought i'd join to take the first step and see if anyone of you fine people can help me.

Welcome in Muppetman15 and Ken Kidney...yeah, there are plenty of puppeteers here and good ones; check out the threads pertaining to that art, and I'm sure someone can steer you rightly.

Just remember: NEVER feed the Muppaphones. Ever. No, really. Suggs will whack you if he catches any of them gaining an ounce; their tone and clarity have been specifically weight-calibrated...
