Muppets at 50 great idea but I think we all need to hold our horses. We don't even know what the Muppets are gonna be doing next month.
That said I think whoever owns them should mark this occasion.
The Muppets 30 years was in reality a celebration of Jim's 30 years in showbiz and sadly Jim hasn't been in showbiz for fifty years.
Hate to rain on parades, aint my style, but there are some important issues that need dealing with here.

Good points, Jamie. It's a fun discussion, but sadly we don't know when we'll ever see a new Muppet production, as long as this sale keeps dragging out. And if Disney does buy just the rights to the characters, not the Henson Company, then we can't even do "50 Years of JHC."

So I guess we'll just have to wait and hope for the best, for now.

Yeah, host it at The Muppet Theater with everything from Sam & Friends down to the very MOMENT they begin filming the special.

It'd be nice to have the Muppet Performers introduce different segments of the show themselves, along with another character:

Dave Goelz and Rizzo
Steve Whitmire and Bert
Jerry Nelson and Janice
Kevin Clash and Kermit
Brian Henson and Johnny
Bill Baretta and Gonzo

Some weird pairings like that.

Then, special clips introduced by Jane Henson and Frank Oz.

It's a big deal, and I think, like has been mentioned, have everyone back.

Kermit and Sam (from & Friends) doing something while being harassed by Yorick.

Mix the old and the new...
