I don't think so, because what other changes would we have? Would you want Pepe replacing Rizzo? (There's nothing wrong with him, but Rizzo's a better character)

Pepe replace Rizzo? NEVER! Lol, but still, I have to exercise serious will power in order to watch a Muppet movie that entirely excludes Scoot. I could squeal when his uncle came on the screen, but it wouldn't be the same. ;)

Yeah I love Scooter too. I used to be that way with Robin, but MCC is the only that gives him a decent role.
  4. We Got Us Active Member

Lolyep. I am a little obsessed with the guy. Robin is unfairly adorable too though! ;)
  5. Dominicboo1 Well-Known Member

That is so true. Why is it the obscure Muppets can be more fun?
  6. We Got Us Active Member

Because Scooter is peppy and funny and naive and a little sarcastic and has super cute glasses--oh wait, you mean in a general sense. I think in my case it has something to do with feeling sorry for them in their obscurity. For example: When I heard that Nigel had originally been the host of TMS, and was voted out for lack of charisma, I started kinda fawning over him and wrote as one of the core characters in my fan-fic. That's kinda a girlie thing though ;). Still, it gives me a fun feeling of excitement pointing out characters in the new movie like Wayne and Wanda and Uncle Deadly who never really got there spot in the limelight before. Did you know Nigel originally had the whistling talent Walter is now famous for?
  7. Dominicboo1 Well-Known Member

No I didn't know that, so did Kermit rehire Wayne and Wanda, because Muppet Morsels tell me he fired them. I really like Uncle Deadly though. He was such a fun character especially in Muppet Melodramas. My favorite character to see return was defiently Rowlf though, he's one of my favorite Muppets.
  8. We Got Us Active Member

    >gasp< Rowlf is my number one fave (after Scooter of course :D) And I assume he rehired them, I mean, where else is a Muppet singing duet to go? I love uncle deadly too, he's such a weird and neat personality, and I love his voice. By the way, here's an episode where Nigel demonstrates his whistling skills, skip to 3:37. This tune was stuck in my head for weeks:

Yes, I've seen it at least twice. If anything, just to figure out what Nigel actually sounded like since I was using him in a fic.
  11. Dominicboo1 Well-Known Member

Really? What is it about? I'm writing a fanfic myself.

i'm writing two: Muppets at Sea, which I started a long time ago (the one with Nigel, but I'll have him in the new one too, I'm sure) and a Christmas story which is under my friend bouncingbabyfig's thread: "Under the Mistletoe" mine is called. "They've only got one another." Sorry for you confusion! What's yours called and where can I find it?! :)
  13. Dominicboo1 Well-Known Member

I've been writing one called the Muppets and the Dark Crystal. It links basically all your favorite Henson worlds together. I have mainly major ones now, but I would like to work in Rowlf, Scooter, Robin, and Annie Sue and others.
  14. We Got Us Active Member

Yay Annie Sue! She's cute isn't she? I always thought she'd make such a great match for Link. I'll look yours up, especially if it has my Scooter in it ;).
  15. Dominicboo1 Well-Known Member

She is really cute! I hope you enjoy it! I'm workign on a chapter now!

Wow! First time I've seen this thread! Just love the title in general ;) I sometimes worry people think I'm some sort of "Scooter Freak" haha; he's my favourite Muppet without a doubt, I made a fangroup from him on Facebook (now it's a fanpage). I just love him, there's something about him that makes him stand out to me and he's always struck me as an interesting character. Even in the way he's been treated after Richard passed away - during the time when other Jim and Richard characters appeared in MCC, MTI and MT, either with a new performer or in silent background appearances, Scooter didn't appear at all! Then slowly but surely, he's been making a comeback and (correct me if I'm wrong) probably had the most number of performers in that journey back.

I haven't seen the new movie yet. Unfortunately it doesn't get released here in the UK till February :(. But it's certainly looking like Scooter's back to the fore again - right where he belongs! :)

Well, greetings to the UK from a fellow 'Scooter Freak' right here in the U.S. of A! I'm proud of the title, lol. I liked your facebook page, I had been trying to find a good legitimate looking one for a while, so thanks for setting it up and the photos are SO cute! Sorry you guys have to wait so long for the movie, that's a super bummer :sympathy: but seriously, it'll be worth the wait right? And Scooter does have an excellent role in the film, one of the best in a while. (and no cage-dancing, thank the good Lord, huh? ;)) His voice is also sounding a lot better--but I don't wanna give away too much. Glad to find more obsessive go-fer fans like myself coming out of the woodwork!

    it's ok
by the way i like you'r icon

Thanks, fellow go-fer fan and thanks for joining the page! Yeah I have a feeling this movie will be worth the wait. It's just hard trying to avoid spoilers and what-not in this day and age of the internet! I've already seen the beginning of the 'We Built This City' montage on youtube (they just show the start of it, not the whole thing) and I just love it! I'm trying so hard though not to watch it too much though, so I don't enjoy it any less when I see the movie but it's becoming a challenge. For one thing, I prefer a broom-dancing Scooter to a cage-dancing one ;)

From the clips I've seen so far, and the SNL appearance, I couldn't agree more about his voice. David Rudman just seems to be getting better and better now. It seems to me that not only has he gotten his voice down, but also the personality that Richard gave him - which I kinda felt Scooter was lacking in some other projects over the years.

I, of course say this without seeing the movie yet, but it's wonderful to see that Jason Segel and Nick Stoller seem to care about Scooter just as much as we do.
